Two of hearts41
___
Y/n sat in class, her gaze unfocused as she absently tapped her pen against her desk. Thoughts swirled in her mind like a turbulent storm, but she felt strangely detached from it all, as if she were watching from a distance. Recent events had left her feeling hollow, the weight of the truth about her father crushing her spirit in ways she never imagined.
A quick glance at Bakugo brought a pang of guilt to her heart, reminding her of the harsh words exchanged between them the night before. She couldn't shake the feeling of regret, the knowledge that he pushed her away when she needed him the most.
Suddenly, a hand landed on her desk, jolting her from her thoughts. Y/n looked up to see Aizawa standing before her, his expression as stoic as ever. His words were blunt, a sharp reminder of her responsibilities despite the turmoil in her mind. "I'm aware you have a lot on your mind at the moment, L/n, but please try to pay an ounce of attention in class for once."
Y/n nodded silently, too drained to argue with her teacher. She knew he was right, that she couldn't afford to let her emotions consume her completely, not when there were still lessons to be learned and responsibilities to fulfil. But beneath her acquiescence lay a sense of resignation, a feeling that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape the weight of her thoughts.
Aizawa walked to the front of the classroom, his presence commanding attention as he addressed the students. "As I mentioned yesterday, our primary goal now is to get you your provisional licenses."
Y/n's ears perked up at the mention of provisional licenses, a surge of anticipation coursing through her veins. Despite the heaviness of her thoughts, the prospect of taking another step toward becoming a hero filled her with a sense of purpose.
The hum of excitement rippled through the classroom, mingling with the rustle of papers and the shuffling of chairs. Y/n couldn't help but feel a flicker of excitement herself, buoyed by the enthusiasm of her classmates.
Aizawa continued, his words sobering the mood as he emphasized the gravity of the responsibility they were preparing to undertake. "Hero licenses are inextricably tied to the saving of lives, so one must be properly qualified for such a heavy responsibility."
Y/n's excitement waned slightly as the weight of Aizawa's words settled over her. She knew the importance of the task ahead, the lives that could be at stake depending on their actions. The realization of the challenges that lay ahead dampened her spirits, a knot of apprehension forming in her stomach.
"Naturally, the test is incredibly difficult," Aizawa continued, his voice cutting through the murmurs of the class. "Even for provisional licenses, on average we only see a fifty percent success rate."
Y/n's heart sank at the daunting statistics. The reality of the rigorous test ahead loomed large in her mind, casting a shadow over her previous excitement. Doubt crept in, whispering of the obstacles that lay in their path and the uncertainty of their success.
Aizawa's words hung in the air, each syllable weighted with the gravity of their impending challenge. "That's why, starting today, each one of you needs to come up with at least two ultimate moves."
Y/n's heart skipped a beat at the directive. Two ultimate moves? The idea felt simultaneously exhilarating and daunting. She could feel the weight of the task settling over her shoulders like a heavy mantle.
Her mind raced as she contemplated the enormity of the challenge. Two ultimate moves meant mastering her Quirk to a level she had never attempted before, pushing herself beyond her limits in pursuit of perfection.
