Being comfortable around Nishinoya wasn't as easy as you thought. Now, you didn't expect to be easy. The two of you hadn't spoke for two years. And the last time you had spoke was...a rough ending, to say the least. You didn't know how to talk to Nishinoya anymore. And he clearly didn't know how to act around you, because no one had ever seen Nishinoya so mellowed.

You and Nishinoya had decided to meet up before practice in an effort to get back to talking, but...it ended in silence between the two of you. Extremely awkward silence. You walked in the hallways silently. You entered the gym silently. And you stood there silently while the entire team stared at the quite Nishinoya.

You swore you heard people making comments under their breath as you stood there.

But seriously! What were you even supposed to say to him? You told him you'd come watch practice, and you did want to be friends again if he wanted it. But you hadn't really had friends for years. You had spent a lot of your time alone, thinking of song ideas until you had enough confidence to post them. You had no idea how to actually handle this situation, a problem you should have considered when you made that song.

"I'll...talk to you later...?" Nishinoya asked under his breath.

"Uh...yeah," you said. "Sure."

Nishinoya walked away from you, seemingly a little embarrassed by the whole thing. But you were too, so it didn't matter. You sat down in the same spot you were in last practice, pulling out your song notebook in order to write something while you waited.

You were still going to write songs with darker themes and emotions for now, and then see what your fans thought later. You knew that anybody who really liked your music would like anything you made, or the other songs just wouldn't be as popular, but you still liked to hear what they thought.

You jotted down as many ideas as you could come up with, and some of them were interesting, but you weren't sure. Your whole thing was songs that people felt represented their feelings—or something like that, anyway. But some of your ideas weren't exactly realistic like that. That would be a kind of song that you would keep as a draft until you thought you needed to expand to more things.

"L/n~san?" You heard someone call out to you. You looked up from your notebook. It was a tall boy with silver hair. Suga was his name, you thought. He smiled at you, then he gestured to the floor next to you. "Do you mind if I sit here?"

You shook your head, closing your notebook and resting your hands against it's cover. "Not at all."

He took a seat. "So...how did you get Noya to be quiet?"

You raised a brow. "Huh?" You didn't exactly...do anything...? You had actually wanted Nishinoya to talk more, since you had no idea how to talk to him. You knew how he normally acted around women, but you couldn't so much as get one glance out of him for two fucking years.

"You didn't do something? I mean...I've never seen him quiet outside of a game," Suga said to you. Nishinoya had already started chattering away with his friends on the team. You were happy that, at the very least, your presence didn't make him go entirely quiet. You would have felt bad if it had. You occasionally caught him sending glances your way, but it wasn't anything that mattered to you.

"I haven't really said a word to him since he asked me to be here yesterday," you said truthfully. You sighed heavily. "I've been too nervous."

   "So...he just hasn't said anything?"

You shook your head. "Tanaka~san told me that Nishinoya~kun was nervous when it came to talking me," you said. "Nishinoya~kun did, too. I think that has something to do with it."
