You had never been in this situation before. You didn't even know where to begin. You had been cornered by two older men on your way home. You didn't know them. Your house was still a good ways away—maybe ten or fifteen minutes. You didn't exactly want these people to follow you home either.
"Come on, little lady," the one on the left said. "Are you sure you don't want to come with us? We can show you a good time."
Your gaze dropped to your feet. "No, I...I really should be getting home."
"Then let us walk you back," he said. "Since you're going to be so stubborn."
"No...I'll be okay."
"Are you sure? There are some pretty scary guys out there," the other man said with a small laugh. "We wouldn't want someone to hurt ya."
"I'm sure," you said. "Please...leave me alone."
"I insist," the first man said. "In fact, we won't leave until you're home safe."
"Is something wrong?"
Your head snapped around to see who was standing there. It was someone you knew from your school, but you didn't really talk to him anymore. You were close with Iwaizumi back in middle school, but the two of you had simply drifted apart. You gave him a grateful look.
"Iwaizumi~kun!" You said, walking over to him. You slipped behind him in an attempt to seperate yourself from the men. "I'm so glad you're here! Iwaizumi~kun can walk me home so you don't have to..."
"Hey, little lady, we said—"
"Hey," Iwaizumi cut them off. He glared at them. The men stiffened. "Get the fuck out of here. She told you to leave her alone, right?"
The men didn't seem like the most athletic, and they apparently had enough sense to know when to bail. Iwaizumi was much taller than them, too. He would win in a fight and then make sure to call the police.
They scoffed and walked away, grumbling to each other about how little you were worth anyway.
When they finally disappeared, you heaved a sigh, stepping away from your classmate. "Thank you for stepping in, Iwaizumi~san..."
"It's not a problem. Are you okay?" He asked.
You looked at him, nodding quickly. Now that you were actually looking at him, he looked much different than in middle school. His dark hair was still very spiky, and his gaze was still intense, even if there was more intensity than before. But he had grown much taller—you actually used to be taller than him. He wasn't that much taller than you were, but you actually had to look up a little to see him. His build was much heavier than it used to be.
He was actually...pretty attractive now.
"Did you know those guys?" Iwaizumi asked, looking off in the direction they ran off in.
You shook your head. "Never met them before... I'm not sure why they started talking to me."
"I'm just glad you're okay," he said. "Do you want me to walk you home?"
"I couldn't ask you to do that," you said. "But I want to treat you to...ramen or something. Whatever you want. As a thanks for helping me."
"Oh...sure," he said. "Then...let's go?"
You nodded. "Yeah. Where do you want to go?"
~*~*~
You knew it would be a little awkward...but this was worse than you expected. Iwaizumi had suggested the place the two of you used to go when you were younger. You didn't mind that.
