When your best friend asked you to follow him to his high school, you were skeptical. You didn't know anything about Karasuno, but Hinata was set on going there. But he didn't want to go alone. Frankly, you weren't the most popular person. Hinata was, for better or worse, your only real friend.

Even so, it had been a difficult decision.

"Shouyou!" You said one day when he called you over to his house. You would often go to his house to toss him a ball, even though you weren't a volleyball player.

"Ah, Y/n!" Hinata shouted as he ran toward the door.

"Look, Shouyou," you said, stopping the ginger in his tracks. "I'm worrying about high school."

"High school?" Hinata asked. "Why?"

"Well...I want to go to Karasuno with you, but I've never even heard of this school before! I have no idea how well their academics are." You felt bad about spewing your anxiety at Hinata. You knew he would be going there, you with him or not.

"Well...I only care about the volleyball team, but I'm sure that they have good academics!" Hinata said.

"You don't need to know. You're a moron."

"Eh?"

You lost some sleep over the decision, but eventually decided that you wanted to accompany Hinata to Karasuno. You wouldn't be in his class, since you were in the advanced college prep class. Without too many other friends, you forced yourself to believe that this would work out in your favour.

Unfortunately for you, it did mean a long bike ride. You didn't have to go over the mountain like Hinata, but it was still a trek. You didn't mind, though. You weren't the most athletic, but biking wasn't something you hated either.

So when Hinata showed up in front of your house—it was on his way to the school, so he asked you to ride the rest of the way with him—you smiled nervously at him.

"Y/n!" He called. You walked out to the sidewalk with your bike, hopping onto it. "Ready?"

"Y—yeah! Don't leave me behind, Shouyou."

"I won't, promise!"

Well, he hadn't, true to his word, but he did get really close sometimes. He was a monster! He had already biked over a damn mountain, how was he so fast? It may always be a mystery how your best friend worked, but you didn't have time to worry. You had classes now.

After you locked your bike next to Hinata, the two of you walked into the building. Hinata looked up at you after gazing around the hallway. "So, which class are you in?" Hinata asks.

"Class...1-4," you told him, glancing at your schedule. "Which one are you in?"

"1-1," Hinata replied quickly.

You looked at the ground, then back up at the room plates. Hinata quickly noticed his room, and he bid you farewell. You were unsure about leaving, but it was probably better that you found your class—and hoped someone would talk to you. Your class was a little ways down the hall from Hinata, just past the staircase to the higher floors.

There weren't many people in the room when you got there. You almost wished that there were less seats open so there wasn't as much of a choice. You didn't want to sit next to someone if you didn't have to. You quickly realised you were standing in the doorway and just sped to a seat. You were in the middle of the room.

The boy at your left was clearly very tall, though how tall you couldn't be for sure. He had short blond hair and square glasses resting on his nose. He has on white headphones over both ears. He looked to be fairly wirey in terms of build. You stared—only for a moment—before forcing you eyes in front of you.
