And now this is my most favorite poem of all. I wrote it shortly after reading This is how you win the time war, an absolutely devastating book, I really recommend it.
This is also my last poem from 2023, so I hope I have written more by the time this gets published.
Anyway, I also wanted to announce that when I reach my 100th poem (this is the 96th), this book will come to an end. But until that day comes, I hope to keep adding short stories to this collection!
And you ask me, god, why do you ask me?
Why wake every morning in Death's sweet embrace?
Why set every night in the nest of your own madness, nothing to gain?
Why hope for a better end, when all you have known is pain? And when you ask of me to do the impossible,
I go as far as my limbs take me, as far as I go
To do what you bid, to do what you sought
Is it madness, you'd ask, to love as you love
To hate as I hate, to break as we broke? And love, no love, it's not madness,
It's not us, it's nothing short of a miracle
Cause when my gaze sets upon you, I know
I know I have lost all sense of self, I have lost me
In the embers of your pain, in the pit of your shameAnd I will hold your hand, forever and more,
Forever till we're gone. And still you ask, why?
Why when the first star blinks in the horizon,
Why when our Moon rises in its stardom,
Why, as the fire crackles, as the ocean sings,
Why can't I love you, as you love me?Lover, my death, my sorrow, it's gone
My darling, my lovely, I'm sorry, it's gone
It was set aflame, it was drowned, it was gone
And I wish to tell you it was never stolen,
Never broken,
But you look at me the way the Sun stares at the Moon
With a whole Earth between their embrace, never close
It'll never bloom. And the fire dies,
And the ocean dries,
And my arms hold you close, whispering my futile replies.
Because, in the end, I know, you are too far for me to lie.(October 18th '23)

The Lost Dreams of a Broken Poet
Short StoryA collection of poems and short stories I write when I'm bored. Most of the themes are sad, so I hope that, in a hundred years when I'm long dead, students read them as part of their Literature lessons. XD ⚠Major character death in some stories⚠
