"Unbroken Threads: A Woman's Journey Through Hardship and Purpose"

The Journey Begins

I've been a widow for over a year at this point and have put everything that I have into keeping this business; my husband's legacy alive. But, I am realizing that the business is all that I have. I haven't been going to church, I hardly have any friends, and barely have time to enjoy my family. Meanwhile, everyone else appears to be living their best lives. Recently, my two youngest children headed off to college, both enrolling in a Christian University in Virginia. While I'm thrilled about their journey, it's also left me feeling lost.

I take immense pride in witnessing all of my children achieving their goals and embracing the paths that align with God's purpose for them. As a proud mother, I relish in their accomplishments. However, with their absence now deeply felt, I find myself engaged in solitary conversations more often than I should, recognizing the potential harm in this isolation.

I want to strengthen my relationship with God and delve into His teachings. Although my faith is strong, I'm uncertain where to begin. My previous church failed to nourish me spiritually, prompting my decision to look for direction elsewhere. I turned to platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and even TikTok in an attempt to find a church. Regrettably, these platforms also expose me to false leaders, deceptive preachers, and misguided individuals.

Thankfully, I've been able to draw from the teachings passed down by my grandmothers on prayer and connecting with God. While I've always spoken to God, there were times when I doubted the worthiness of His response or disregarded His answers if they didn't align with my desires. Doubt is the opposite of faith. By opening my heart and my spirit to accept God's love, my faith is now unwavering, and I eagerly await His guidance.

Beginning now, I am dedicated to being a chain breaker. Breaking family curses. Breaking mental and physical soul ties with people from my past that have kept me bound. I am going to dive head-first into whatever God has planned for me.
