The sunrise brought with it a renewed heart of thankfulness. Thankfulness for another day in which we serve and share the love of God. With the house painting complete, we rested. I decided to fast until noon and by noon I was ready to devour something delicious.
I have fallen in love with something called FuFu, which consists of starchy foods—such as cassava, yams, or plantains—that have been boiled, pounded, and rounded into balls; and are often dipped into sauces or eaten with stews of meat, fish, or vegetables. Yum!
Over the past two and a half months, Archie and I have been spending the majority of our days working together. I think it is great that we can be fully focused on the mission and still able to enjoy each other's company. Archie has a great sense of humor and makes me laugh frequently. It's not just when he's trying to be funny either. More often, he makes me laugh the hardest when he's not even trying.
Curious minds have wondered if we are more than "friends." The answer to that is a clear and resounding, No! Archie and I are simply good friends. I can understand why, to an observer; we might seem like more but, not only is it ill-advised but two weeks from now we will be on our way back to our respective countries.
As we are reminded that we only have two weeks left here, it appears as if Archie's mood has shifted a bit.
