This chapter wouldn't be filled with sunshine and banter, but with the harsh glare of headlights carving through the darkness. Brace yourself, reader, for the shadows that lurked around that last shared coffee are about to step into the light. The questions might sting, but facing them is the only way to mend the cracks in my shattered world, one blurry memory at a time.

This is a simple reminder for this chapter which contains a flashback about the whole thing that happened at the bar before the accident.

Flashback

Third Person's Pov

The velvet portiere swallowed her whole, muffling the city's roar into a distant hum. Stepping into The Gilded Cage, The woman felt like a moth drawn to forbidden flame. Crystal chandeliers cascaded like frozen waterfalls, their prisms splintering the light into a thousand glittering shards. Polished mahogany gleamed like dark water, reflecting the hushed murmurs of power brokers and socialites, their laughter like champagne bubbles popping in slow motion.

She stood in the doorway, a lone onyx pebble dropped onto a silk tapestry. Her simple green satin dress, a stark contrast to the jewel-toned gowns and crisp tuxedos, felt like a badge of defiance. She was here for a reason, and the opulent atmosphere, instead of intimidating, fueled her resolve.

"May I escort you, Miss Beautiful?"

"No, thank you." "I'm here to meet someone."

"Ah, a rendezvous then? Intriguing."

Lumapit siya ang lalaki at bumulong. "Perhaps I can be of assistance?"

"I'm sure I can manage," sagot niya, kumikinang ang mga mata niya. "The name is Nathalia Sera Gomez."

"Ah, yes, Miss Nathalia Sera. My Dearest Friend."

"And you are...?"

"Call me Kevin," alok niya sabay abot ng kamay. "At your service, Miss?"

"Kheeana"

"Okay, Miss Kheeana"

Their hands met, a brief clash of flesh and ambition. Her grip was firm, unyielding, a silent promise that she wouldn't be underestimated.

"Please lead the way, Kevin" saad ng babae.

"He is too formal" komento ni dalaga.

"Okay, As you say so"
