Branch: Okay, Branch, you can do this...you're just meeting the princess, you're fine. It'll all blow over...

Branch waited anxiously outside the royal pod, he knocked a few times before the king came to the door with a big smile.

King Peppy: Branch, my boy, you made it!

Branch: Uh...hi...Your Majesty. So um...what's happening again?

King Peppy: Come with me, I want you to meet my daughter.

Branch: Oh...right, okay.

The old king led Branch into his pod, he looked around for a moment before he caught sight of the king's daughter. She was on the floor scrapbooking and making troll cutouts.

Branch: Is that her?

King Peppy: Yup, this is my daughter, Poppy.

Poppy looked up and smiled when she saw Branch, she put her scrapbook down and gave him a big hug. He taking aback by her sudden affection.

Branch: Uh...nice to meet you too?

Poppy gently took Branch's hand in hers and started tracing the lines on his palm.

Branch: Um...what are you doing?

King Peppy: Ah yes, I forgot to mention, Poppy was born unable to speak. She communicates in her own special way.

Poppy continued tracing on Branch's hand as if trying to tell him something.

Branch: What are you trying to tell me?

Although this was totally out of the ordinary, Branch felt like he knew exactly what she was saying without needing any words.

Branch: Are you...asking me if I want to hang out?

Poppy nodded and hugged Branch again.

Branch: Wow, you're very huggy.

Poppy giggled and grabbed Branch's wrist dragging him out of the pod.

Poppy took Branch to a hill that overlooked all of Troll Village, the view was amazing and it seemed like the perfect spot to watch the sun rise or set.

Branch: ...Hey, Poppy, right?

Poppy turned to Branch, her expression turning curious.

Branch: If you don't mind me asking...has it always bothered you that you haven't been able to talk or sing?

Poppy smiled and shook her head. Branch was taken by surprise, she seemed to be much happier than the other trolls in the village, and she didn't even need words to express that. Poppy set a picnic blanket down and motioned for Branch to sit next to her. Branch hesitated for a minute but complied.

Branch: Wait...so you can't talk but...you don't mind?

Poppy shook her head no and began tracing on his palm again. Again, this felt weird for Branch, but he still felt that her way of communicating was rather unique. She was special.

Branch: Are you saying...you don't need words?

Poppy nodded resting her head on Branch's shoulder, he began to blush. Wait...was he...falling for her? But he just met her, how could he?

Branch: You're...special, Poppy.

Poppy blushed and tucked her bangs behind her ear. She traced on Branch's hand as if saying thank you...or something else.

Branch: Wait...so you're saying that...no one else understood you like I do?

Poppy nodded and continued tracing.

Branch: Actions...speak louder than words? How so?

Poppy kissed Branch on the cheek and went back to laying on his shoulder. That caught Branch completely off guard. He had only known her for a few hours and she was already taking a liking in him, that was insane. He looked down at her as she put her hand over his. This time, it wasn't her communicating, it was just a friendly gesture...or maybe...it was something more.

Branch: Maybe she's right...maybe actions do speak louder than words do.
