Dear Diary,

I never thought this would happen, I thought I would be doomed to isolation for the rest of my life...until I met her...the girl of my dreams. She's kind of out of my league, but I see so much in her, she brought me back to life and never turned her back on me. Her name is Poppy Primrose, and she's a queen. Not only that, but she's the most beautiful troll in the village, and I care about her more than my own life.

I don't know how to tell her, she's the one for me and I see our relationship flourishing from best friends to possibly lovers. It seems like this diary is the only place I can pour out my feelings for her. She's the most important person in my life and I'm so in love with her. Throughout our last adventure together, I felt that we had chemistry, but I was too shy to admit it to her. I mean...singing is one thing, but I just said to her that I care about her wellbeing, not that I had feelings for her. How can I confess to her without looking like a total ding dong in front of her?

See, I would move mountains for her if I could, whatever it took to put a smile on her face, I would do it. Whatever it took to make her laugh, I would do it. Whatever it took to dry her tears, I would do it. Everything about her is magical, her beautiful smile, her laugh, her personality, her ability to see good where you would least expect it, everything. I just...don't know how to tell her.

Branch sighed and closed his diary before looking over at a photograph of him and Poppy laughing together at a picnic. He kissed his hand and lightly touched the area where Poppy was posing.

Branch: She means the world to me...

He took a deep breath and left his bunker adjusting his vest.

Branch: I have to tell her...regardless of how it goes.

Poppy sat on a swing lightly swinging and humming to herself, a light smile graced her face. She looked up at the cumulus clouds that formed little shapes such as a bunny and a flower. Branch watched her from a distance admiring her and what an amazing queen she had been.

Branch: Okay, Branch, you can do this. Just pull yourself together.

While Poppy was still lost in her little world, Branch came up to her from behind and took a deep breath.

Branch: Hey...Poppy?

Poppy turned her head and smiled getting down from her swing.

Poppy: Hey Branch, what's up?

Branch: Um...there's something that I want to talk to you about.

Poppy: Okay, what is it?

Branch fiddled his fingers thinking about everything he wrote in his diary and everything he had been hiding.

Branch: Um...so, you know how we've become great friends these past few months, right?

Poppy: Of course, Branch, I knew you would fit right in with us the moment I met you. And your presence made Troll Village such a bright place.

Wow...that meant a lot to Branch, he didn't think he would make that much of an impact just by being more involved.

Branch: You...really think so?

Poppy: I know so, Branch, you're an amazing friend.

Branch: Oh...um...actually, about you and I...I really admire our friendship. With...just the two of us.

Poppy: Really? So do I. I know we don't always see eye to eye, but you being here with all of us makes my day.

Branch realized that Poppy wasn't catching on to what he was saying and realized he had to be more specific.

Branch: W-What I mean is...I really like when it's just...us.

Poppy started to get confused.

Poppy: What do you mean?

Branch: I mean...do you remember our first adventure?

Poppy: Of course, we helped the Bergens find true happiness without having to feast on us.

Branch: Yeah, well...remember when I saved you from those spiders?

Poppy: Um...that's kind of a blur for me, I just remember seeing you after traveling for a bit and...getting caught in a spider web...everything in between is kind of a blur.

Branch: Well...I did save you, but you were unconscious. The truth is, Poppy...I went with you to Bergen Town not only because you needed help, it's because...I just wanted to be next to you.

Poppy: Wait...what?

Branch took a deep breath, he knelt down and took Poppy's hand gently stroking her arm.

Branch: I guess what I'm trying to say is...I love you, Poppy Primrose...more than anything else in the world. You're the best thing that's happened to me...and you're the only troll that didn't turn away when I was isolating myself from everything around me. I never thought I'd find true bliss and thought I would be living in isolation for the rest of my life...until I met you. You're the girl of my dreams, Poppy, whenever I'm around you, my heart skips a beat and...I just feel so at home in your presence. I love you more than I love my own life. I would do anything to make you smile, make you laugh, and dry your tears. See...just being with you means the world to me, and I just want you to know how much you really mean to me. You've always taught me that true happiness comes from within, but...true happiness for me...it's you.

Poppy gasped softly covering her mouth with her free hand. Tears began to form in her eyes and few began trickling down her cheeks.

Poppy: B-Branch...you really mean that?

Branch: Every word, Poppy, every word.

Poppy dropped to her knees and gave Branch a big hug.

Poppy: Oh Branch...that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me...I didn't know you felt that way...

Branch: It's true, Poppy, I think you're perfect, more than perfect. And no one can change my mind, absolutely no one. I love you so much.

Poppy: I...I...I love you too, Branch...

Poppy stayed in the hug and sobbed softly. Branch gently caressed her back and took her hand kissing it gently.

Branch: I promise, I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy.

Poppy smiled through her tears and took Branch's hand in hers, rubbing her thumb over it gently.

Poppy: I know you will, Branch...I know you will.
