Poppy sat down in the hospital next to her sister's bedside, she held her hand in hers.
Poppy: Hey, sis...you missed a pretty cool party today, everyone had a good time, even Dad. But...it wasn't the same without you.
See, Viva had been sick for a while, and she hadn't gotten better. She didn't think too seriously about it though believing it was just the flu, but it took a toll on her when she fainted during a sleepover. Now she was in a coma, it had been nearly 3 weeks since that incident and she didn't even flinch. Poppy couldn't stand to see her sister in such a state.
Poppy: I love you so much, Viva...I just wish you came to me when you weren't feeling well...
She rested her head on her unconscious sister's lap, tears began to form in her eyes. She had just got her sister back after over 20 years without her in her life, what if she lost her again?

Branch: Poppy?
Poppy woke up from her brief sleep when she heard her boyfriend's voice beside her. He knelt down and picked her up holding her close.
Branch: Visiting hours are almost over, love...
Poppy turned to her sister, she was still out like a light, but she was showing some signs of improvement, good news.
Poppy: I wanna stay with her...
Branch: I know, but we should get going, it's really late. We'll visit her tomorrow, okay?
Poppy nodded her head, she really wanted to stay with Viva, but she knew that Branch was right. She gave Viva a light kiss on her forehead and followed Branch out of her room.
Branch: I know you're worried about her, Poppy, so am I. But hey, she's a fighter, just like you, she's going to pull through.
Poppy: Really...?
Branch: She fought the Bergens at a young age, Poppy, not everyone can be that brave. If she fought that, then she can fight an illness.
Poppy felt a little better when she heard that, but she was still worried about Viva. She wanted her sister to wake up, for everything to be okay, and for things to just go back to normal.
Poppy: What did the doctor say?
Branch: They said she's showing signs of improvement, hopefully she'll wake up soon. The only thing is that we don't know when exactly.
Poppy smiled and nodded her head, even though that wasn't the news that she was looking for, it was still good news for her. Hopefully, Viva would be okay.

Back at her pod, Poppy skimmed through a scrapbook she and Viva had made together a few weeks ago, before she fell ill. They had been doing a lot of catching up since they're reunion, but Poppy still couldn't understand why her father never told her she had an older sister out there. She had always dreamed of having a sister and she finally found out the truth as a young adult, but now she was worried that she might lose her sister again. Branch had already told her that she would pull though, but she wasn't so sure. She had been in a coma for almost a month and there were only a few small improvements, she was starting to lose hope.
Branch: Poppy?
Poppy looked up at Branch who was outside her pod holding a bouquet, she smiled a little and ushered him inside.
Branch: I got you something to cheer you up, I know it's not much, but I hope it helps.
Poppy smiled and took the bouquet, then she gave Branch a hug and a kiss on his nose.
Branch: Are you feeling better?
Poppy: A little...
Branch sat next to Poppy and picked her up sitting her on his lap.
Branch: Still thinking about your sister?
Poppy: Yeah...what if she doesn't make it, Branch? She's hardly showing any improvement, I've been talking to her for weeks, but she hasn't responded back, I can't even sleep, Branch! I haven't slept in 5 days because I'm so worried about her! What if she-
Branch: Whoa, whoa! Whoa...
Uh oh, Poppy was starting to get agitated, and it's impossible to calm her down if her emotions get too high. Branch put his hand on her cheek and wiped a tear away.
Branch: First of all, get a grip before you get too irritated. Secondly, Viva's going to be okay, I'm sure of it.
Poppy: How? When did you become a medical professional?
Ouch.
Branch: Poppy-
Poppy; How can you be so calm about this?! You have no idea what I'm going through, I just got my sister back and I might end up losing her again!
Branch: Poppy, look at me!
Poppy looked up at Branch and he took her hands in his.
Branch: How do you think I felt when I learned that Floyd was kidnapped?
Poppy: O-Oh...
Branch: And do you really think it was easy for me to let my brothers back into my lives after they walked out on me?
Poppy: No...I guess you do make a good point.
Branch: I've been in your shoes, Poppy, I know what it's like to nearly lose someone you love.
Poppy felt ashamed from her outburst, she forgot that Branch had it worse than she did.
Poppy: I'm sorry...
Branch wrapped his arms around Poppy and kissed her on her head. But his heart immediately shattered when he heard Poppy sobbing, her face buried in his chest.
Branch: Poppy, I think you need a nap.
Poppy: W-Why...?
Branch: I can tell that Viva's illness is stressing you out, you should get some rest.
Poppy looked down as Branch picked her up bridal style.
Branch: And hey, you're sister's going to pull through, I know it. Those small improvements could become big ones. Then things will go back to normal before you know it.
Poppy smiled hearing that from Branch, he always knew what to say to make her feel better. He kissed her forehead and laid her down on her bed brushing her bangs back.
Branch: Get some sleep, okay? We can go visit her again later. Everything's going to be okay, I promise.
Poppy: Thanks, Branch, I love you.
Branch: Love you too, sweetie.
Poppy curled up under her bed sheets and drifted on into a peaceful sleep, knowing that her sister was going to wake up soon and she would be able to hug her again very soon.
