Poppy smiled at all her friends enjoying the night, there was a special dance celebrating a new year and everyone was enjoying themselves on the dance floor. She sighed and looked down at the red dress she was wearing, she had received it earlier that day by a secret admirer when she couldn't find anything to wear. She didn't even get a chance to thank whoever it was.
Spruce: Aw man, you guys have got to try this punch, it's insane!
Poppy giggled when she saw Branch's brothers having fun.
Clay: Hey John, tell me if there's anything fishy about this pie.

Clay suddenly shoved the pie into John Dory's face.
Clay: GOTCHA!!!!!
Poppy looked around the party and realized that they were one troll short. Branch wasn't there...she couldn't blame him, he was more of an introvert than an extrovert. She spotted him sitting under a tree writing in his journal, she didn't like for him to miss out on anything fun and she approached him.
Poppy: Branch?
Branch suddenly gasped and put his journal in his hair.
Branch: Poppy, ever heard of personal space?!
Poppy: Sorry, Branch, I just wanted to see what you were up to, you're missing out. All your brothers are there.
Branch took notice of the dress that Poppy was wearing, she looked amazing in it, and it fit like a glove.
Branch: Oh...you got my gift.
Poppy froze when she heard that, she looked down at her dress then at Branch.
Poppy: You sent this?
Branch: Yeah...I felt kinda bad and...thought you might wanna wear this tonight.
Poppy: ...Okay, with a heart like that, you HAVE to come with us!
Branch: Uh...no thanks, Poppy, I'm not really in the mood for dancing.
Branch was lying, he did want to be there, but since his brothers were already there, they were probably gonna tease him about Poppy with that K-I-S-S-I-N-G thing. No one likes that, right? He was just afraid of being embarrassed. He turned around so he wasn't facing Poppy.
Poppy: Are you sure, Branch?
Branch: ...No, actually...
Poppy: What's wrong?
Branch: I just...don't want to look like a fool up there.
Poppy smiled putting a hand on Branch's shoulder.
Poppy: Branch, even if that did happen, I don't think anyone would notice, they're too busy having fun, even your brothers.
Branch: I guess.
Poppy: How about just an hour, then you can leave if you feel overwhelmed.
Branch smiled a little and put a bow tie on.
Branch: Deal.
Poppy giggled and dragged Branch to the dance. He did start to feel better when he saw how packed it was, maybe when he got the chance, he could steal Poppy away for just a moment.
Poppy: You know, Branch, I'm glad we got to do this. There were a lot of parties and everything...but this is the first time I get to go to an event with my sister. Don't you feel that way?
Branch: Sometimes...I've done more catching up with Floyd than the rest of my brothers.
Poppy: Really? What about your other brothers?
Branch: Well...
Branch pointed to Clay in the distance, he put a rubber spider in a cup of punch and when Viva saw it, she screamed and fell backwards passing out. Clay burst into laughter and rolled on the ground.
Poppy: Oh...I see what you mean.
Poppy got punch from the table and took a few sips, Branch crossed his arms but soon saw an open spot in the dance floor where the other trolls were going crazy.
Branch: Hey Poppy.
Poppy: Yeah?
Branch: Wanna go show them how it's done?
Poppy: Sure!
Branch took Poppy's hand and led her to the dance floor, just in time for a new song to play and they took over from there.

Branch: Y'know...you can always leave if you feel overwhelmed.
Poppy: No, I'm fine...that was great, Branch. We should do it again sometime.
Branch: Well...we'll see, Poppy, we'll see.
Poppy looked around for a moment before turning her attention back to Branch.
Poppy: I'll look for you later, I'm gonna go find everyone else.
Branch: Okay, go ahead.
Poppy gave Branch a kiss on his cheek and went to go find her friends. Branch crossed his arms smiling, knowing that he just made Poppy's day by sharing a dance with someone he loved.
