Branch: Poppy?
The village festival was in full swing, but where was the pop queen? She was always present for events in the village, so it was completely out of character for her to not be there. Branch searched the village for his beloved, but she was nowhere to be found.
Branch: Weird...
Now, Branch knew Poppy well, and she would never miss a party, or any special event for that matter. They knew each other nearly their whole lives and they've been dating for a little over a year. Branch continued searching the festival for her until he finally spotted her. She was laying in the grass with her eyes closed, her arms folded under her head.
Branch: Babe?
He knelt down beside her and gently shook her. Poppy's eyes fluttered open as soon as she felt a hand on her and she looked up at Branch sleepily, her face was flushed and a little red.
Branch: Hey, beautiful, you okay?
Poppy: Hey, Branch, I'm just...
Branch got his answer when Poppy suddenly sneezed in her dress.
Branch: Oh sweetie...
He gently scooped her up in his arms and placed a hand on her forehead, she was burning up. Poppy didn't protest when he picked her up, she was too tired.
Branch: Are you sure you're up for this festival?
Poppy didn't say anything, she only shook her head and rested it on his chest. Branch knew right away something wasn't right, she looked really tired and sick. She might've gotten the flu.
Branch: Let's get you home.
Poppy: No...I need to be at the...
Before Poppy could protest any further, she suddenly fell fast asleep. Branch looked dow n at her full of worry, she must've been really sick.
Branch: I gotcha, Poppy, don't worry, I'll take care of you.

Branch took Poppy back to his bunker and gently laid her down on the couch. He placed a soft blanket over her and kissed her on the forehead. Soon, Poppy started waking up, her eyes fluttering as she took in her surroundings.
Poppy: B-Branchie...?
Branch: Hey, it's just me. You were out for about 15 minutes.
Poppy started moaning as she sat up, but Branch gently pushed her back down and started stroking her hair.
Branch: Don't get up much, you have a fever.
Poppy didn't protest, she was too weak, she just wanted to feel the comfort of Branch's presence.
Branch: Here, drink this.
Poppy looked up as Branch handed her a glass of water, she gently held it in her arms and started sipping it.
Poppy: Branch, the festival...
Branch: Don't worry about it, Poppy, okay? Your health is more important.
Poppy then turned to her side and buried her face in her pillow, Branch started rubbing her back trying to give her some comfort but then stopped when he heard sniffling. Poppy was...crying?
Branch: Babe?
Branch uncovered Poppy's face and saw the wet tears staining her cheeks.
Poppy: I'm sorry...I'm sorry...!
Branch looked at Poppy confused, he sat on the couch and placed her on his lap.
Branch: For what?
Poppy: That I'm not enough for you...! I don't know why I'm so vulnerable...you deserve someone so much better...!
Branch's eyes widened and pulled Poppy into the biggest hug he had ever given her despite how tired and sick she was, stroking her back and giving her kisses on her rosy cheeks.
Branch: Don't say that, angel.
Poppy: But it's true...! I'm too easy to get, I'm like a helpless baby bunny...!
Branch: No you're not, Poppy, you're a lot braver than you know. You're the one who changed the world, no other Troll was capable of that except for you.
Poppy looked up at Branch, her teary eyes wide from surprise.
Poppy: Really...?
Branch: I mean it, the only girl I need in my life is you.
Poppy started blushing and hugged Branch burying her face in his shoulders.
Branch: If you think about it, Poppy...you and me are the same.
Poppy gasped when she heard that and looked back up at Branch.
Branch: Look, in a way, you and me had...our bunkers. Just not in the same sense.
Poppy: W-What?
Branch: Your bunker was the village, and mine was...well, my actual bunker. But in your case, it wasn't that you didn't want to leave your bunker, you couldn't.
Poppy: What do you mean?
Branch: Remember when you heard about the other tribes and your dad forbade you from leaving the village?
Poppy: Yeah...
Branch: That's like being stuck in a bunker, living the same life and never really experiencing what it's like outside those doors. That's where you came in in my case, you got me to get out more, and now look at us.
Poppy blushed and rested her head on Branch's lap grabbing hold of his hand. Branch gave her a smile and kissed her forehead.
Poppy: I don't know where I would be without you, Branch.
Branch: No, Poppy, I don't know where I would be without you. You made me who I am today, you're the reason we're here now.
Poppy blushed again and curled up still laying on his lap feeling flustered by her boyfriend's words, Branch started running his fingers through her silky hair singing to her softly.
🎶'Cause I don't wanna lose you now
I'm lookin' right at the other half of me
The vacancy that sat in my heart
Is a space that now you hold
Show me how to fight for now
And I'll tell you, baby, it was easy
Comin' back here to you once I figured it out
You were right here all along
It's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me
I couldn't get any bigger
With anyone else beside of me
And now it's clear as this promise
That we're making two reflections into one
'Cause it's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me, staring back at me 🎶Branch looked down at Poppy and noticed her eyes were closed, he placed a hand on her forehead still a little concerned for her, she still had her fever. He gently picked her up careful not to jostle her and wake her, then he carried her to his bedroom and set her down on his bed tucking her under the covers to keep her warm. He sat on the edge of his bed and kissed her on the cheek watching her slumber and dream.
Branch: Sweet dreams, my precious angel.
