IT TAKES NINA MORE THAN TEN MINUTES TO COMPREHEND EVERYTHING. Granted, she did know that she was wasting so much precious time; but to be fair, her sister - whom she hadn't seen in so long had suddenly appeared, gave her cryptic instructions, and bolted away; combined with the fact that 1.) Beck was missing 2.) Peter was missing, 3.) Everything in her body hurts - especially her throat, and 4.) She had found out that as usual, the two people she had onced considered family were probably behind the mess she was in once again.

So a breather was understandable; she deserved it.

The pain was long gone after a few minutes - and it was times like this that Nina was grateful for her deep connection with her father, who, despite dealing with crazy shit as well, took the time to mind control her into not feeling the pain all throughout her body. She was probably gonna get a million messages from her parents in a few minutes, but they were unimportant at the moment. What Nina needed to do now was to figure out something to do.

Too many things were happening all at once and for the first time ever, Nina didn't even know where she would start. And, for the first time in a long time, Nina uses her heart instead of her head, doing what she feels right for the first step instead of doing what's rational.

Peter.

He was still missing.

In the dimly lit compound, shadows danced on the walls as she moved around the rubble, trying to get a glimpse of the boy. She couldn't call him; not with her vocal cords in the state that they were in, so she forces to do the task wordlessly. Her heart echoed in sync with each hesitant step, the deafening silence amplifying her vulnerability.

It was quiet. Too quiet. It scares the living fuck out of her. There was a small part of her that had always thought that Peter was way too chatty for his own good, but right now, she would do anything - anything - to hear him ramble about some nerdy shit she'd never understood, if only it had meant that he was okay.

It was absolutely terrifying. He had just been here a mere moment ago - and now he was gone. God knows where Beck threw him off to. The girl doesn't let her thoughts wander to the borderline negative images that are threatening to come up in her mind - because it wont do her any good. Peter. She needs to find Peter.

Even after being mind-controlled by her father, Nina could still feel the damage that was inflicted on her. It was evident in the way she moved through the corners of the compound; combined with the heavy feeling in her chest growing as she was met with the crushing weight of abandonment, she couldn't walk around as fast as she used to, she couldn't speak physically even if she tried, despite there being no pain.

Unspoken fears manifested in the furrow of her brow, and the tightening of her jaw betrayed the mentality she was trying to possess at that moment.

A hundred scenarios were going through her head all at once - if Beck took care of her, that must have meant that it was either Samara or Illiana who took care of him, and the thought was almost enough to make her throw up right then and there.
