You Me At Six ft. Oli Sykes- Bite My Tongue

"Way to clear out the room," Zuri says coming out of the bathroom. "You need to teach me that trick,"

"Mom left," I continue to put everything away.

"Sweet. She's been driving me nuts," she says and joins me. We put everything away together. She cracks open a poppi soda when we're done. "Let's make a list of things you need so we can start looking for furniture,"

"That's a really good idea," I agree. "Is Jo's still in business,"

"Mhm, they got some nice stuff this month," she nods.

"Let's start with the basics. I'm going to get changed," I pause before running up the stairs again. "Noah saw me fall down the stairs ass first,"

"You stupid bitch," she laughs. "They pull out,"

"What?" I ask. She grips the bottom step and slides them out. "Why didn't I know that?"

"You never had to go up there to get Grandma's medicines and shit. You were obviously her favorite," she smirks. "Then she died and everyone stopped loving you,"

"You're an asshole," I shake my head.

"I know," she laughs. "Hurry up. I want to stop at the Tea Cup. Melissa finally got Bobas,"

"Gross, but okay,"

"You did not say gross to Bobas," she calls after me.

I change into some loose jeans and slip on a hoodie. It's a lot easier to come down the stairs with them pulled out.

"Ready," I say tying my hair up.

"Never mind. This tea is fucking amazing. Fuck the Boba," she says pouring hot water into a tumbler.

"Did you sweeten it already?"

"No," she looks up at me. I take the vanilla marmalade from the cupboard and sweeten it for her. "I fucking love you," she takes a drink. "This is so good. I forgot you were good with plants,"

"Come on. I want to have a better mattress by tonight. My back is killing me,"

"Don't blame the mattress, Gaz. We both know it was cause you fell down the stairs trying to get a good look at Noah's ass from above," she laughs as she makes her way out the stairs.

"I actually didn't get a good look. He was too busy looking at me to turn around," I say climbing into my car. It smells like cleaning chemicals.

"I had your car detailed. It's the least I could do," she shrugs. "I took the rest of the week off. I don't-" she scratches her forehead. "When they find out that Aldrick is missing, they're going to give me his position,"

"What the fuck?" I laugh. "Seriously?"

"Yeah, how fucked up will it be when I have to work in the office where I was raped and killed someone?" she whispers.

"Hella," I answer. "You should quit,"

"Okay," she says sarcastically. "And then what?"

"Well, Mom wants me to stay. I can't stop working. A lot of people depend on me. I can start up a bookstore here. We can work together. You save me having to interview people and shit. How much did you make at the academy?"

"One forty a year,"

"One eighty sound better? Paid vacations and bi-weekly salary,"

"Seriously? You'd do that for me?"
