Killing Joke- The Death & Ressurection Show

The glass around the butterfly is magic. If I wanted to release it, I could. The drive back was interesting with everything I'm carrying in the back. I didn't want to cry in front of those kids but it was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Once I started crying, B.B. followed and Carson couldn't get me out of there faster. The churros are really good. He even packed some for Zuri.

"What's all this?" Zuri asks looking into the back of my car when I arrive home. Home. I can't believe I have a home now.

"B.B. got her dad to get grandma get these for us,"

"What?" she laughs.

"It's a weird story," I admit. "Help me get these in the gaming room until we find somewhere to put them. Carson made us churros. They're vegan,"

"Sure," she grins.

We take everything inside. Some of my packages are here. I get a box cutter to open them up in the kitchen. I immediately start preparing my pots to plant some of my favorite cooking spices on the iron hold above the island.

My phone starts to ring when I climb up on the island to hang some of the bigger pots on the corners.

"Hello?" I answer with my earbuds.

"Keeping busy?" my stomach flutters at the sound of his voice.

"Not busy enough," I admit. "How are you?"

"I'm fine," he chuckles. "Just checking in on you. Don't want you to miss me too much,"

"Is that right?" I laugh. "Cocky fuck,"

"How was your trip?"

"Interesting," I say and sit on the island. "Do you want me to tell her?"

"Do you have evidence?"

"Violet is getting the last piece we're missing. Any minute now," I wrap my arms around my thighs. "This is going to change everything,"

"Not really," he sighs heavily. "I know where I belong,"

"You can want this. You know that, right? Whatever the story is, you have to know that it wasn't her fault. As much as we all kind of want to punch her in the face, she's your Mom, Noah,"

"She's nuts,"

"You love my Mom," I remind him. "You loved her even when you thought she was a danger to me,"

"It's different,"

"It's not, Charmy. You just gotta look past that anger once in a while,"

"Charmy?" he laughs.

"Yeah, turns out you're Prince Charming after all,"

"Don't let that stick, Gaz," he scoffs.

"It's sticking. I love it already," I laugh. The line reminds us we only have a couple of minutes left.

"She's coming to see me in a couple of days. They want to question me about my time in the convent,"

"I'll be there,"

"You can just send the paperwork over,"

"And miss her expression when she sees you for the first time? Yeah, right,"

"Okay," he laughs. The timer starts counting down. "I'll see you soon then,"

"Yeah," I clear my throat.

"I love you, Ga-" the line cuts off.

I blow out a heavy breath and fall back. It doesn't take long for Zuri to climb up next to me.
