Too Close To Touch- In The Name Of Love

Standing by letting Fringe officers take him was not easy. He gave up his house and I got rid of everything in it. Except for Hailey of course. She is currently lying in her new bed by the fireplace while Ellie barks orders at the delivery guys.

"What are you working on so hard?" Cody asks coming over with a bowl of freshly picked blueberries. I take a couple because these things are delicious.

"I'm running Noah's DNA through the highborn database. Ahsan let me use his access card,"

"You really think Noah is a highborn?" Violet laughs.

"Yes,"

"Aiming a little high aren't we?" Beverly asks.

"How many aristocrats or coven leaders do you know can create an omen flurry?" I ask.

"I know you can create a flurry and a fucking hurricane," Verona hits the side of my head with a blueberry.

"Clean that up," Cody scolds her. I grin at her as she comes over to pick it up.

"Fuck off, Periwinkle," she sneers.

"She's right," Cody agrees. "It could be your magic combined with his. If he were a highborn, someone would be looking for him,"

"Just let me do my thing," I roll my eyes.

Ahsan and B.B. said the same thing but until I am proven wrong I know there's more to him. This power is nuts. If I wind it up and fuck around with it there is no doubt in my mind that it'll have me all weak in the knees again.

"Are you going to stare at the computer the whole time? Why don't you come over here and watch the trials with us," Beverly waves me over to them.

"There's a big ass TV in the basement part," Violet points out.

"That's the gaming room," I laugh. "There's a lower level under it where the laundry room is. I think that's the basement,"

"Okay, I am going to run around the house again. This dude built you the coolest fucking house ever," Verona sits up.

"I'm coming with you," Steph says and runs after her.

"She's right this place is beautiful. Bring your laptop," Cody agrees. I pick my things up and follow the two of them down to the gaming room.

I love this place. Noah has a sick pool table right in the middle. There are darts, cornhole, a giant chessboard, and his favorite poker corner. Violet waves me over and starts setting up for a game of pool. I don't want to watch the trials but I can listen to them and keep an eye on my laptop.

Zuri's voice meets my ears. It makes me glance over at the two skeletons I put up by the bar. I smile. It was Noah's idea to bring them back here and put them in the one place that would hurt them the most.

"I was under the impression that Noah needed funding," Cody says holding up a bottle of whiskey. "This shit costs five hundred dollars a glass,"

"His adoptive parents weren't able to disown him and they don't have any other blood relatives. All his mom's shit went to him when Mrs. Patterson tried to kill her husband," I line up my shot. "She killed herself thinking he was dead,"

"He didn't die?" Violet asks.

"No, he's a vegetable now. She stabbed him in the neck somewhere. He can't move now or talk. When he dies, Noah gets his shit too,"

"Wait, who's dad do those bones belong to?" Cody points at them.

"Ben's stepdad," I make two balls and the white ball.
