Kings of Leon- Wait For Me
Noah
I am prepared for many things, but seeing Gastly hurt has never been one of them. The skin around her mouth down to her neck and chest is almost black with bruises. Her belly is swelling with the damage the lightning-caused when it entered her body.
The only reason I haven't been arrested is because of Carson Kennedy and Stacy Whitmore. We brought Gaz back to my home. She's been asleep for a little over nineteen hours. I think this is the longest she's slept in a long time and I doubt she's getting any rest.
"Car, I want to see her. She got hurt because of us," I look towards the doorway.
"How is this because of us?" he asks her.
"None of this would be happening if they didn't want her magic to kill me," the door is pushed open and the little reaper girl who took Natalie and Sophie away walks through it. She gasps covering her mouth as she takes in Gaz's appearance. "Oh, my Lucien, Gaz,"
"Baby, I told you-" Carson is standing right behind her.
"I want to see her," she shrugs him off and goes over to Gaz.
"I wouldn't move her," I stop her from reaching out. "She's fragile,"
"I'm sorry, Noah," she apologizes to me. "If I hadn't asked her-"
"Gaz isn't the kind of person that backs down from a fight. She's here because she wants to be. Even if you hadn't asked," I stop her. "And she's fine. Something like this isn't strong enough to kill someone like her. Bad weeds are stubborn like that,"
"You think that little of her?" Cody scoffs. "You have no idea who she is,"
"He's not belittling her," Carson growls at her. "It's a compliment,"
"She's waking up," I inform them.
I stand back letting Cody and the blonde woman, I think Gaz said her name was Beverly go over to her side. I want to hit something when her eyes flutter open. They're bloodshot and not like she just woke up. It's going to take a lot for that to heal.
"Fuck," Carson blurts out.
"Carson," B.B. scolds him.
"I believe you," Gaz tries to smile but it's more of a grimace. "In my car. Lift the back seat. There's a box with seven viles in them. Can someone bring me the pink one?"
"I'll go," I say. I kind of need some air. If I make a big deal out of it, she might freak out.
Her car is ridiculous. This thing costs more than everything I own. I open it and try to find the latch to lift the back seat. Under it is an armored box. I don't know why it bothers me to know that it's not locked. I open it and find the seven viles.
They're no bigger than a shotglass. I take the pink one and hold it up. There are no labels on them or anything indicating what they are. They're all different colors. I cover it up and put everything back the way it belongs. When I turn around I find a woman standing behind me. Her trial eyes light up when our eyes meet.
"Forgive me. I didn't mean to startle you. You must be Noah," she slightly bows her head.
"Yes, Noah Patterson. You are?"
"Joana Lumen," she introduces herself.
"Lady Supreme," I bow my head. Holy shit, I've never thought I'd ever be in the same vicinity as this woman much less speaking to her.
"Is Gastly awake?"
"Yes, she's inside. She sent me for this," I hold up the vile. She takes it out of my hand and looks it over.
