Fit For A King Ft. The Plot In You- Technium
Looking up at the glass ceiling feels kind of good. Okay, it feels amazing. I did that. I built something with my magic. Granted it's for a building that houses insane criminals, but it still feels great to see that my power functions for something more than destruction.
"It was a pleasure working with you," Aleksei shakes my hand and looks back at Noah.
"Call the Reaper. Have this place cleansed. It'll save you a lot of trouble," he says when they shake hands.
"Keep him out of trouble, Ghastly," he turns away to leave.
"What?" Noah shakes his head. "All kinds of wrong. I've devoted my life to the service of others and now suddenly I'm trouble,"
"Welcome to the others, Hon. I made you cookies," I hold them out of him. He smiles and takes the ziploc bag.
"I'm gonna miss your dry sense of humor, Kid," Luke says as we're led out to the waiting cars that'll take us to the airport.
"Okay, one last jab at me," I poke him. He laughs. "If you're ever in Ghostgrove or shit, even Hellbourne. Know that you can drop in for a visit when you want. Maybe you can distract Cody for a bit. You know she's lame as hell,"
"Thanks," he hugs me. He turns to Noah.
"Stay out of trouble, Kid,"
"What?" Noah groans. "Yeah, I'll see you, Lucas,"
The plane ride to Hellbourne was long, but it was fun. Noah has not changed that much since I've known him. He really thought he was doing the right thing. I hate that he's now questioning every good thing he's ever done. The more I told him about my time in the Fringe, the more he opened up about what happened to him in the coven.
"Gaz," I did not expect B.B. to corner us at the airport. I was hoping to avoid her.
Her tiny belly is showing with the fitted top she's wearing. Personally, I feel like she's a little young to be a mother. At her age, I wanted the world. But then again, I didn't have the resources she does. Or the focus. I had been lost and here she is knowing exactly what the future holds and the means to get there. I guess all I can do now is look out for her. I'm starting to look forward to what she does next.
"Look at you, huh? You're showing,"
"It's just a little bump. He's just starting to move," she grins. "Bubble guts,"
Hm. Gross.
"The wraith is as powerful as she is because she's a fire elemental. I think she'd make a great gift for Carson. If any of you have a chance at controlling her, it's him,"
"Your sister beat you to it. He's now very excited to be training with them. That's what I wanted to talk to you about. Do you want to work on a schedule or visitation times? I don't know what the deal is and she is your sister and I don't know how to own people. That's a devil's thing,"
"Not right now. Right now, I just want to go and piece together what's left of my life. If you need me to hold on to her, I can,"
"No, no. I get it," she nods. "Just making sure we're on the same page. Go home. Do your thing, when you're ready. Car and I will be waiting. This is the finalized contract," she holds up a USB. "It's long and super specific. Ahsan told me you were super into the fine print. I hope everything is to your liking,"
"We'll see," I take it from her. "Be careful,"
"Bye guys," she waves back at me and pops. Was that an illusion or the actual girl? Very eerie.
