LINA'S POV
"We are very proud of you, Captain. You made the impossible possible." Chief said.
"We understand this has been quite demanding of you. Both teaching and flying yourself. You have handled every situation impeccably." He said.
"But we need you back right away." He said and I felt a lump in my stomach grow. I thought I would get at least one or two weeks off after working for almost 10 months straight.
"What do you have in mind sir?" I asked.
"You are getting shipped out." He said and u closed my eyes for a split second as the unsettling feeling settle in.
"Where?" I asked.
"Baghdad." He said and I nodded. Fuck. Not again.
"When?" I asked.
"On Sunday." He said and I nodded.
"For how long?" I asked. Getting shipped out now looked different compared to my first time, now I only get shipped out for special tasks which could last between two weeks and six months. I knew it was hard to point out a time frame.
"Maybe a month or two." He said and I nodded.
"You will get the details by the end of the day." He said and I nodded again.
