"IM GONNA GO HANG OUT WITH HARRY!" Scarlet told her dads before leaving Lupin-Black cottage. The couple had wanted to go on a walk and end the day with a Picknick near the house. It didn't take her long to get to the willow, where her boyfriend was already waiting for her, a Picknick basket in one hand and a bouquet of tulips in the other.
"Hello Harry!" She greeted and kissed him on the cheek. "Hi darling! I got you some flowers." He gave her the bouquet. "Thank you! They're so pretty."
"Not nearly as pretty as you are."
"You're so cheesy!"
"You love it." He grinned, leaning down to kiss her, which she immediately reciprocated. It wasn't until they heard a weird sound from a nearby bush that they pulled away.
"What's that?" Harry wondered frightened.
"I dunno, I'll go look." She put the flowers into the basket.
"Be careful love, it might be dangerous." He told her, taking another step backwards. She rolled her eyes and kneeled by the bush, slowly parting the branches to see what or who caused the noise.
Her boyfriend got a bit scared when he heard a loud gasp, but when she turned around, she smiled happily whilst holding something in her arms.
"Oh Harry, look! It's a kitten!" She exclaimed whilst showing the small cat off to him. It was fluffy with ginger fur and looked very confused.
"That's great Scarlet, but what are you going to do with it?"
"I'm not going to take it with us, it might belong to someone. I'm sorry kitty, but I have to go now." She pouted at it.
Once she had out the feline down and taken a step away, it began meowing loudly.
"I guess it doesn't want you to go, huh?" Harry teased, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and placing his chin on her shoulder.
"Looks like it. Well, in that case, we're taking it with us." Scarlet decided, walking back to the cat and taking it into her arms. As soon as it was in her embrace, the kitten began purring.
Harry felt a pang of jealousy toward the animal, but sucked it up. It would only be for the day. He took the picnic basket and followed her. They walked until they found a nice field from where they could watch the beautiful sunset. Scarlet put down the kitten and helped him set up everything. They ate and talked until the sun had fully set and it got incredibly cold. Luckily Harry had brought two jackets along (James' number 1 date tip), so he draped one over his girlfriend's and one over his own shoulders. They cuddled up and looked at the night sky.
Harry frowned when the cat lied down on her stomach and she took her hand from his to stroke its ginger fur.
"You're so cute, I'm gonna keep you." Harry's eyes widened when he heard what she said to the kitten. He couldn't explain it, but he didn't really like the cat, it kept glaring at him.
It was half past eleven when they returned to the Lupin-Black cottage, still with the kitten. They stepped inside the house, where Remus and Sirius were both waiting for them.
"Hi, so we found this cat and I think it likes me because it was running after me the whole day. Can we please keep it? Please?" She asked her dads, giving them her best puppy eyes. They looked at eachother and nodded.
"Only if you take care of it Scarlet. Make sure you feed it." Remus added.
"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU" she exclaimed, happy they had allowed her to.
"Also, Harry is staying over night." She said, pulling him behind her.
Before Sirius could say no, Remus quickly said "alright good night." As the pair walked upstairs together to Scarlet's room, they heard Sirius' voice.
"No funny business, I'm looking at you James Potter junior!" Both of them burst out in laughter.
