CHAPTER 666: I have a hunch... and I don't like it.
Meanwhile...
"Congrats, baby." Heaven smiled as he congratulated Dominic through a phone call. "Yes. I was watching. You look very handsome."
She snapped her eyes on the tablet in her lap. Dominic's smiling close-up was paused on the screen, making her cheek blush.
"You should be ready later," she warned playfully. "Yes, I'm still here. It's alright, don't worry. I know you're busy."
Heaven hummed a long tune as she listened to her husband from the other end of the line. His official candidacy was a success and if things went as planned, it wouldn't be an exaggeration that Dominic would win.
"Mhm. I heard," she replied after a moment. "Moose told me he's doing great and is controlling the meeting. Don't worry much about him. Moose is with him."
"I'm not worried about him. I know Axel."
Her smile stretched. "Alright, then. Rest for a while. You still have a meeting with your chosen party list. Call me when you have free time. The children were alright too. Princess and Fig were with them."
"Yes," she added, rocking her head. "Alright. See you later. I love you."
After exchanging cheesy flattery with her husband, Heaven ended the call with a heavy heart. Her smile remained for as long as she could remember, glancing at the tablet where Dominic's close-up picture was displayed. Her satisfaction, however, didn't last long when a voice ruined it.
"Young Madam, is this your chosen method to torture me?" Heaven snapped her eyes, moving up to the person reclining on the hospital bed. "I'd say it's very effective. Though I think I'm not the only one who is suffering from that exchange."
Primo shrugged and glanced at the rest of the people scattered inside the ward he was in.
There was Tiger standing near the window and Gray on the long couch, not far away from them.
"If this is enough to consider torture, then you're in for a treat," she humored, leaning back on the chair that was placed near the bed Primo was on. She picked up the tablet and slipped it beside her, raising her foot to rest on the other.
"Alexander Cafre more known as No One, I think I've given you enough time to recover," she said, sporting a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "Though I must say I didn't expect you got such a rare condition."
After the disastrous anniversary event, Primo was doing well until he suddenly passed out. He was rushed to the hospital immediately, and much to Heaven's surprise, they told her Primo had a rare medical condition. Primo couldn't feel pain and thus, even though he was bleeding out, he could act perfectly fine until he was in a critical condition.
It gave her mixed emotions, as that sounded a little handy to her.
Nevertheless, that explained why he kept insisting on being rushed to the hospital. He was already aware of it.
"Heaven Liu, I appreciate that you offered me the best medical attention to keep me alive," he mused, back to his usual self after recovering well two weeks after he woke up from a coma. "I assume you have questions? Let me guess, are you wondering where are the rest of my men? Or was this about Silas?"
"What does that man want from you?" Heaven didn't beat around the bush. "That night, do you remember that person who bombed us?"
"Nope."
"I'm not here to play."
"I'm not playing, Young Madam." Primo cocked his head to the side. "I have tons of enemies, but I don't remember offending the Dragon of the Underground. At this point, you should have a better understanding of me, Heaven Liu. I am a confident man, but I am no fool to go against such a man. Not yet."
