CHAPTER 466: Everything will be okay

Karma was like a boomerang. It returns to the person who threw it.

That was what Heaven immediately felt the second her eyes fell on Sebastian.

Hera's life was full of nothing but filth. Although she never hurt children intentionally, even if she had the means to do so, her other actions were covered with the sinful lives of people surrounding her. Though couldn't be seen through one's naked eyes, Hera stood atop a mountain of corpses; the life she had taken throughout her life as Hera Cruel.

Therefore, having to pay a heavy price was something she had always thought about in the past. She would take it without questions asked. After all, she had always been aware of how sinful her life was. But this... just what did Sebastian do to deserve this? Just what did Dominic do so wrong to be a subject of such cruelty and greed?

Why did people like Primo, like Hera, have to live? If all they had done was hurt others?

Tears formed in the corner of her eyes, watching her husband and son embrace each other. Watching Sebastian cry while Dominic was trying his best to maintain a strong front so his son would have courage felt like a striking stab in her heart.

"It's okay, Basti. It's okay." Dominic caught up in his breath, pulling himself away from his son to look at him. He nodded at Sebastian reassuringly, touching the latter's shoulder only for Sebastian to wince.

"Aw..."

"Sorry." Dominic lifted his hand from his son's shoulder as if it was a hot surface.

Sebastian pressed his lips as he gazed up at his father. His eyes softened, having this sense of security upon realizing his father was truly going to save him. This wasn't a dream. He would be saved.

"Riley." Sebastian instinctively turned his head to his friend. "I told you."

Riley, who was still teary-eyed, forced a smile onto his face. "Mhm! We're saved by Basti's dad!"

"Not just me." Dominic raised a hand and placed it on top of his son's head. "It's thanks to your mom."

The second Sebastian heard his father's remarks, he shifted his eyes back to the door. That instant, his eyes locked with Heaven's, a tear dripped from her eyes.

"Basti..." she called under her breath while Sebastian bit his bottom lips.

"Mommy..." tears covered his eyes once again, staring back at his mother, who came to rescue him with his father. Young as he may, Sebastian knew his mother was pregnant. However, she still came to his rescue.

How could he ever consider his mother would love him less because of another child in the picture?

"I'm sorry..." Sebastian blurted out through his tears, specifically talking to his little sibling. "... I'm sorry."

"Basti." Dominic embraced Sebastian again as his son felt more emotional upon seeing his mother. "Don't be sorry. This isn't your fault."

"But the baby..." Sebastian hiccuped, and his remarks made both parents freeze.

The baby.

Dominic clenched his teeth as his body shivered at the thought. His family... he put his entire family in danger. That would always be an unchanging fact. And he regretted this more than he could ever explain.

"Basti," Heaven mustered every bit of courage and advanced in her son's direction, squatting beside Dominic. She waited for Sebastian to look back at her, forcing a smile as soon as she locked eyes with his. "The baby is fine, sweetheart."
