CHAPTER 136: Narrowing down to three

[She's a new maid hired a few months ago. If I remember correctly, her name is Andrea. She has short hair and a huge scar on her arm.]

Heaven memorized the details her son had given her about the maid he met that night. This servant named Andrea was not on Heaven's suspect list. Looking back on that night, Heaven met Miriam in the mansion's lobby.

Miriam couldn't be on the roof deck before Heaven did. Mrs. Deng wasn't in the manor at that time. It wasn't obvious, but that memory never left her mind.

"Madam??" Heaven's train of thought halted at Miriam's call, snapping her eyes at the person across the kitchen counter. "Are you alright? You were zoning out."

The corner of Heaven's lips curled up, shaking her head. "Everything is alright. I was just thinking of something."

"Ah." Miriam smiled back, nodding in understanding. "But Madam, I think you put too much sugar in the juice."

"Huh?" Heaven gazed down, realizing she left her son in the pool area to make him some refreshments. Miriam was already in the kitchen when Heaven arrived, chatting with her, but Heaven ended up zoning out.

"Oh." Heaven took a sip, licking her lips. For a sweet tooth like hers, this level of sweetness was alright. But after spending time with Sebastian, his taste buds were different. This level of sweetness would be too much for him.

"I'll just do it again," she said, only for Miriam to stop her.

"Why don't I do it?" Miriam offered from the goodness of her heart. "Ever since Madam started spending time with the young master and the master, most of us couldn't do anything much anymore."

Miriam's smile stretched slightly. "Let me prepare it for you, madam."

Heaven thought about it for a second before nodding in agreement. "I'll work on the taste. Thanks, Miriam."

"Not a problem, Madam."

With that being said, Miriam went over to the kitchen to get more fresh lemon while Heaven sat across the counter. She watched Miriam go over the fridge, getting everything together and preparing it across from her.

'Now that I think about it, Miriam had such delicate hands,'Heaven thought, cupping her cheek with her eyes fixed on Sebastian's nanny. 'Though I don't feel bad about suspecting her, I'm glad at the possibility she didn't kill Heaven.'

Heaven's suspect list was long and each of them had a motive to kill the original Heaven. Perhaps the most twisted possibility Heaven came up with was Miriam's motive, but that night gave her an alibi.

"By the way, Miriam." Heaven cleared her throat, watching Miriam pause as she gazed back at her with raised brows. "Do you remember that day you told me to be nice to Basti?"

"Huh?" Miriam glanced up for a second before nodding. "Yes, of course."

Her smile was subtle, and her eyes were soft. "It's the first time I spoke my mind, after all. I thought you will hate me for stepping out of bounds — I was very scared at that time."

"Haha." Heaven laughed. "You were very brave that day, but I was just wondering. What were you doing that night before?"

Miriam furrowed her brows, puzzled. "I was in the night market that night." She still answered.

"In the night market?"

"It was my day off that day, Madam. Did you forget? Because the young master went to the main residence, Master told me to take a day off to rest," Miriam explained in detail.
