CHAPTER 91: Territorial

In most cases, having affectionate parents affects their child positively. Therefore, when Heaven noticed Sebastian's presence in the kitchen, she didn't think much about it. In her mind, it would be good for Sebastian's development to see his parents having a good relationship.

Little did she know, Sebastian had a different take in witnessing his father being too affectionate to his mother. Feeling betrayed was not even an exaggeration, albeit he didn't show it to his mother.

"Eat more, baby." Heaven placed more food on Sebastian's plate, smiling. "Did you have a good night's rest?"

"Mm." Sebastian nodded, sitting beside his mother while Dominic perched on the head seat located at the end of the table. "I like it."

"Mommy made it, so I'm happy you do." Heaven giggled, eating her own food while frequently checking on her son.

How clueless.

She didn't know that the breakfast wasn't as peaceful as how it appeared. Dominic kept glancing at his wife and son, and every once in a while, he would receive death glares from Sebastian.

'How rude,'thought Dominic, chewing his food carefully. 'Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed?'

Unlike Heaven, who perceived her son as an innocent little baby who needed to be taken care of like a glass, Dominic knew his son from inside and out. Dominic was aware of how smart and mature his son was, and he knew when Sebastian was displeased about something.

Sebastian didn't even need to say a word because Dominic could read his son like an open book. They were alike, after all.

The thing was, Dominic had no idea why his son was mad at him. He had no clue. For all he knew, he didn't do anything to deserve the glares.

'Is it because...' Dominic glanced at Heaven before shifting his attention back to Sebastian. His expression turned solemn. 'I see. Hah. How foolish. Is he trying to compete with me?'

A glint flickered across Dominic's pair of sharp eyes, and at the same time, Sebastian held his father's gaze.

'If you understand what this is, then you should back down,'was what was in the boy's mind while holding his father's gaze. 'Don't compete with your son.'

'I'm not. It'll be a pity if I do.'

'A pity? Hah. Surely, you have no idea you're taking on a losing war.'

'I... never lost.'

'Then I'll gladly give you the taste of defeat for the first time.'

Bzt Bzt!

The tension between Sebastian and Dominic was palpable while Heaven ate her meal in blissful ignorance. After a second, she raised her brows and darted her eyes between the two.

"Uhm, is there something wrong?" she broke the silence, puzzled. "I feel like you two are talking telepathically, leaving me out."

"What are you saying?" Dominic smiled gently. "You're not being left out."

"Are you sure?" Heaven arched a brow. 'But it did feel that way.'

"We're just enjoying breakfast since this is the first time we had breakfast together." This time, Sebastian chimed in with the most adorable voice he could use. "Thank you for the breakfast."

Heaven faced her son, and her heart instantly warmed up. "You're welcome, baby. Do you want me to give you more food?"

"Sure." Sebastian nodded and Heaven instantly added more meat and vegetable to his place. As his mother served him, the corner of his lips curled up arrogantly as he cast Dominic a triumphant look.
