CHAPTER 561: A hunch

Meanwhile...

Dominic furrowed his brows as he had his eyes out the window of the back seat. It was almost nighttime and was already on his way back to the office to wait for his wife. But somehow, he felt this sudden restlessness in his heart.

"Mr. Zhang, did something happen in the company while we were away?" he asked, setting his eyes on the front passenger seat.

Dane instinctively looked back at the backseat, confused. "No, sir. If there's a problem, I'm the first person they would reach out to."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." Dane nodded, knitting his brows even more. Had there ever been a time he lied to Dominic about the company's status? "Everything is doing fine. It's just that everyone is busy with tomorrow's event."

Dominic rocked his head in understanding, making Dane wonder.

"Why did you ask, sir?" Dane inquired out of plain curiosity. "Is there's something wrong?"

"I just had this strange feeling just now." Dominic leaned back and pinched the bridge of his nose, eyes shut. "Don't mind me. I'm just probably overthinking things."

Overthinking things? That sounded even weirder.

It wasn't that Dominic didn't have those episodes, but it wasn't like this. His line of questions wasn't as strange as his questions now.

"I'll ask someone to double-check," Dane said reassuringly. "I'll update you once I receive a word."

"Alright." Dominic reopened his eyes as he lowered his hand slowly. "About Axel. Is he still in the company?"

"From what I heard, he already left."

"I see." Dominic rocked his head in understanding. "I guess he can't wait for his sister-in-law longer."

"The art department is busy, so I doubt he will wait."

Dominic cast his assistant a look before looking away. He set his eyes back to the window, wondering why he had such a strange hunch.

'I don't want to say it's probably nothing,' he thought as he had learned his lesson in the past. 'I don't like this feeling.'

Dominic slipped his hand inside his suit, taking his phone out to make a phone call. Call it paranoia, but Dominic rarely gets this type of restlessness in his heart. If the company was okay, then he wanted to make sure his children were alright. Therefore, he wasted no time in calling some people in the old residence to make sure his children were safe.

Meanwhile, Tiger, in the driver's seat, couldn't help but glance at the rearview mirror to check Dominic.

Meanwhile, in the art department...

The sound of glass shattering resonated in the busy department. Everyone stopped and turned their heads to where the sound was, only to see the errand girl staring at the broken cup of coffee on the floor. Seeing that she was fine, many of them didn't think much about it.

"Pepsi!" Mr. Yang rushed to Heaven when he heard the sound. The very reason everyone resumed their work was because Mr. Yang would always come at every minor inconvenience.

Mr. Yang stopped a few steps from Heaven, looking at the spilled coffee on the floor. There were pieces of the broken mug on top of the mess.

"Goodness." He pinched the bridge of his nose in distress. "Pepsi. Good thing there weren't papers here. Or else, everyone here will chase you with pitchfork and stakes!"
