CHAPTER 381: Thanks to her
Heaven didn't have much expectation from today's agenda except to have fun with her husband. But in the end, the company she had quite a good time with was Ivy Wei. That woman's name didn't have a nice ring at first.
Who would have thought Ivy Wei was better in person? And the more Heaven got to know the person, she had to admit she liked her more and more. Their personalities and energy matched as if the two of them were meant to be friends.
Both confident and capable.
The original Heaven could never.
"You look... very happy."
Heaven snapped her eyes to the person beside her in the backseat, making her grin stretch even more. "More like I'm relieved."
"Relieved?" Dominic's brows rose curiously. "That is a strange word to use in these circumstances."
"Hehe. Well, I didn't expect I will get along with Ivy." Heaven scooted over to his side, hugging his muscular arm with his hand on the other side of her thigh. "I had a bad impression of her in the past, and I'm glad I got to know other sides of her today. She isn't as dislikable as I thought."
"She isn't?"
"Dom, don't be like that to your friend."
"I'm not saying she is a bad person, but she can be very annoying." The corner of his mouth curled up into a reassuring smile. "Though I'm glad you two got along well."
"We wouldn't get along if she likes you."
"Hmm?" Dominic tilted his head to the side, blinking countless times as he repeated his wife's remarks in his mind. "That's disgusting."
A wave of laughter broke out from Heaven at his response. "Don't worry, darling. She feels the same about the idea. No offense."
"None taken." He shrugged indifferently. "Ivy and I had known each other since we were children. We've seen each other worst and best. She's like a sister to me and Axel. Considering a romantic relationship with her, who is like a distant relative, sounds strange."
"I know, but, well, Ivy is someone very capable and successful." Heaven smacked her lips. "So, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that turned out. But I'm glad things are the way they were. I'm hopeful."
She faced him again, smiling, with eyes twinkling. "I'm hoping for a good friendship with her. Though it scares me a bit because of a certain person, I still want to believe she might be different from Paula."
"She is," Dominic said with certainty, nodding ever so slowly. "I can't put a period in my sentence, but I'm sure she's not like that woman who only knows how to ruin her friend."
Her smile stretched even more, hugging his arm tighter and resting her head on his shoulder. Seeing how excited his wife was, Dominic couldn't help but chuckle as he rested the side of his head against the top of her head.
"Did you have fun today?" he asked, recalling he hadn't asked yet.
"Yep! I had fun more than I thought I would." Heaven moved her face up to him. "Thank you for taking me today, my love."
Looking back at her, Dominic smiled in satisfaction. "I'm glad you had fun, and you're welcome."

Meanwhile...
When the group bid each other farewell, Heaven and Dominic left first. Axel would go with them if he came with them, but he didn't. Thus, Axel had to drive home after dropping off Ivy Wei at her place first.
