CHAPTER 206: [Bonus chapter]Tighten your stomach
"Sis... what should I do? I'm done for."
Even without the original Heaven's memories, her time spent with Axel was enough to know what sort of person Axel was. Even though this guy was childish as hell and too arrogant for his own good, he had countless redeemable qualities.
One of those qualities was his pride in being independent. From what she heard from Dominic, Axel wasn't just getting any allowance from the family. It wasn't as easy as it appeared, though he still had some benefits being a Zhu.
Axel was actually a president of a subsidiary company of the LYON Group, earning everything on his own. One could easily invalidate that fact just because he was part of the Zhu family, but Dominic himself asserted Axel was one of the most hardworking people he had ever met.
Axel wasn't used to asking for other people's help. He lived alone, took care of himself even when he was sick, funded his lifestyle, and did all sorts of things that any individual person had to endure on their journey of independence.
For him to uncover all the countless layers in front of Heaven only meant one thing: desperation.
And that... was something she was so familiar with, as she had seen the desperation in countless people's eyes before her.
Seeing the fear and desperation dominating his face, Heaven's heart sank.
"You..." she breathed out the heaviness in her heart, raising a hand as she moved to reach his head. "... stay here."
"What?"
"Didn't you ask me what you should do?" Heaven forced a smile in an attempt to take away even the portion of his fear. "Then stay here, hmm? Don't worry. I will repeat this one last time; they touched my brother, and now, they get a piece of me."
She ruffled his hair briefly before retrieving her hand, unbuckling her seat, and without a second hesitation, she stepped out of the vehicle. Only when she slammed the door did Axel snap out of his trance, moving his unblinking eyes to her figure as she marched toward those guys.
"Sis..." Axel whispered, reaching for the door handle to follow her. However, just as he did, his body trembled uncontrollably. His face crumbled in regret as he couldn't move his feet. Even if his brain was screaming at himself not to let her go out there alone, his legs wouldn't listen.
His fear and deep shame... had paralyzed him.
'Useless...'he clenched his teeth, catching up to his breathing as his heart raced at a speed he could barely catch.
Meanwhile...
"If you don't want the world..." The man with a mohawk cleared his throat when Heaven hitched outside the vehicle. He narrowed his eyes, glancing at the windshield to check if Axel moved to the driver's seat. As soon as he saw Axel cowering in the passenger seat, the man sneered.
'Heh.'the man raised his chin as he dragged his feet back on the road. "Haha. Missy, I told you. Don't go with him because —"
"What is that thing you were shouting about?" Heaven didn't let him finish his nonsense as she delved straight into her point. "What do you guys have on him?"
"Hehe. You're quite rude. That damn tongue of yours will make you regret." The man snickered, casting the other woman a look. "Hey! What is taking you so long?!"
"Wait!" the woman yelled back before she straightened her back, getting half of her body out of the car.
Meanwhile, the other guys also looked at Heaven with great contempt. Now that she was outside, they had more confidence to walk closer. Seeing that they were closing in, Heaven just arched her brow and glanced at them indifferently.
