It was Saturday morning, and it's been a day and half since they came back home. Magnus was spending the Friday and Saturday morning with his Mama and Pop, and Alec was spending his Saturday morning with his family. With him being a busy university student, there were times when Alec would go more than a few days without talking to his family. He missed them dearly. With him moving out from the house, he felt as if he had to become an adult all of a sudden. From cooking his own meal to doing his own washing, figuring out bills by himself to, going on weekly food shopping, were adding into his growing responsibility list. He did do chores when he was at home, but this was different. When he was at home, if he was bored or felt overwhelmed he could hide in his room for few hours and he would have a warm meal ready in the kitchen but since he started university, unless he dragged his ass to the kitchen and didn't prepare anything for himself, he wouldn't have meal for that day.

Not having Magnus around was the other thing. He missed Magnus more than he could express with his words, and he knew the feelings were mutual. Magnus grounded him, Magnus made his life exciting, and without him around, Alec felt as if he was going bat shit crazy but thankfully, he met his now university friends, who were quite similar to him. James and he shared a lot of interests, and both of them are sporty guys, and it also helped that James was gay just like him. Alec never had a gay friend before, so James played a major role in his life. Facey was as fiery or even more fiery than Izzy. Alec looked after Facey like his own sister more than once. She was notorious for getting into fights, and her no bullshit words always made people either really hate her or really love her. Alec really appreciated how she always said what she meant. Then there were their other friends, who were as sporty as him, some were artists, some were into nerdy things but all of them got along well. Even though Alec didn't go to parties with them every weekend, he attended more parties than he thought he would attend. It would have been great to share his university life with Magnus, but he knew that once they were done with their degrees, they still could make great memories together.

"What is the plan for today, then?" Maryse asked from her oldest son, who was now playing a video game with Jace, while Izzy was huffing and puffing about not getting a chance to play the same game.

"Once we get back, we are going to take it easy. My final deadline is next Friday, but I just need to proofread it, and I will be able to submit the documents before Friday. Tomorrow, we are going to have a summer party at our apartment. That's all the plans we have for now."

"A summer party?" Maryse asked, wanting more details on the party.

"Yeah, James wanted to throw a party at his sisters place before everyone leave for the holidays. It has a pool. Can you believe it? a pool!" Alec looked away from the game and looked at his mom to express the absurdity of having a pool.

"We are going to have some BBQ and spend some time there." Alec turned back to look at the screen. Jace got a smack on his head from Izzy for trying to cheat while Alec was talking with Maryse.

"Ouch." He pouted as he rubbed back of his head.

"Is it safe to assume you guys won't have any alcohol?" Maryse asked Alec, to which Alec took a second to reply.

Alec sighed dramatically. He knew where the conversation was going to go. "Mom, everyone except Magnus is 21 years old. Magnus is going to be 21 this December."

That doesn't mean it is okay to have beer. Maryse argued.

"I am sure Magnus has more than beer in England. After all, he is our drunkard." Jace replied this time. Everyone went quiet and looked at Jace.

"What?" Oblivious to glares from Alec, Jace asked stupidly.

"Sometimes, I really wonder if you are actually sitting on your brain rather than using it." Izzy replied this time.
