Thankfully, Magnus wasn't late for the
date. He stopped by to get a flower bouquet. Since Imasu began working for him, he observed that Imasu consistently maintained the flower arrangements in both the lobby outside his office and his office. Magnus had a general understanding of Imasu's floral preferences, as he was quite observant in that regard.Imasu was already waiting for him in front of the coffee shop, and they had previously arranged to meet. Magnus observed Imasu as he approached him. Imasu was engrossed in something on his phone, a smile gracing his face. As usual, he was impeccably dressed, sporting a beige jumper and crisp white trousers, complemented by a stylish brown coat draped over his arm. Magnus couldn't help but admire Imasu's consistently handsome and well-groomed appearance.
"Hey." Magnus approached Imasu slowly, in order not to startle him.
"Hey!" Imasu looked up from his phone and started smiling immediately. Magnus had to admit, Imasu had a really nice smile.
"Hey! I got this for you. I know you like dasies." Magnus said again as he handed the flower bouquet to Imasu.
"Oh, thank you." Imasu looked pleasantly surprised.
"Shall we?" Magnus pointed at the coffee shop door.
"Yeah, let's." Imasu let Magnus guide them to the coffee shop.
As they stood in front of the menu board, Magnus couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the cake options before him. From the classic Black Forest to the creamy cheesecake and the delicate Japanese strawberry shortcake, Magnus's sweet tooth was in a state of pure bliss. However, despite his intense desire to indulge in these sugary delights, he hesitated to show his enthusiasm in front of Imasu, especially considering that this was their first date.
"What would you like to order?" Imasu's question pulled Magnus back from his reverie, and he reluctantly tore his gaze away from the tempting menu.
"Let me get this." Magnus said when he saw Imasu was ready to pay.
"No, please let me. You have already got me with a lovely bouquet, and my boss pays me well. I can comfortably afford a few cups of coffee each month.
Magnus chuckled. "I believe you deserve much more than just a few cups of coffee per month. Would you like me to discuss this matter with your employer?"
Imasu smiled broadly. "Maybe at a later time. So, what would you like?"
"One large Cappuccino, please. Thank you for this treat."
"No problem at all." Imasu turned back, leaving Magnus to observe all the cake options again. Magnus made a mental note to come and get himself some cake from the cafe soon. Thankfully, the place was not too far from the office. So he probably could come over after work.
Once they got the drinks, they decided to sit by a window seat. Magnus always preferred a window seat so he could watch it while he had a discussion.
The conversation between them flowed effortlessly, which was unsurprising given how much Magnus enjoyed their small talks at the office. Imasu possessed a wealth of knowledge and cultivated interests, all of which Magnus found interesting. By the time Imasu had finished his Americano and Magnus had completed his cappuccino, they had spent nearly two hours engaged in stimulating conversation at the café.
"I have to say, I really enjoyed this." Imasu put down the mug on the table.
"Same here." Magnus smiled.
"Does that mean a second date is on the table?" Magnus leaned back to his chair as he looked at Imasu.
"Definitely!" Imasu answered with a radiant smile.
