"ayumu! wake up, it's breakfast time!" a girl who had just budged into the six year old boys' room, exclaimed as she yanked the blanket off of him.

"kiyo! i said five more minutes..." ayumu groaned, turning away from the three girls.

"but your food is going to get cold," naho said with a slight frown.

"aren't you hungry?" sumi tilted her head while she watched the other two girls attempt to drag him out of bed.

"that's right! shinobu-san bought some yakitori for us as well!" kiyo added, hoping the sound of his favourite food would get him out of bed. kiyo and naho made their way to the end of the bed, each grabbing onto one of ayumus' ankle, they tried their best to pull him off the mattress.

"i'm not hungry," ayumu whined as he grabbed onto the bed sheets, successfully stopping himself from getting dragged. "go awayyyy!"

"but it's yakitori!" sumi gasped. "your favourite!"

"ugh... who cares..." ayumu groaned, sounding frustrated. he started kicking his legs until the two girls loosen their grips on his ankle, allowing him to slip out of their grasp.

"you don't want yakitori..?" naho asked, concern lacing her voice.

"i just want to sleep," ayumu sat up only to pull the blanket back over his body before laying back down. "m' tired," he mumbled, eyes closing once again.

while naho and kiyo stood there, confused at the boys' behaviour, a sudden thought popped into sumi's head. "could it be?" her eyes widened as she rushed towards ayumu. she reached a hand out, placing it against his forehead.

"he's sick!" sumi announced with a worried expression.

"has shinobu-san left yet?"

"no, i think she's still in the kitchen..!"

"i'll go tell her! naho, kiyo, stay here, i'll be right back!"

"what's wrong?"

giyuu watched as you placed your bowl of porridge down on the table next to you, it didn't look like you were going to continue eating it.

"mmm, i'm not hungry anymore," you replied, leaning against the headboard of the bed, averting your gaze to the window behind you.

giyuu was already awake when you woke up about an hour ago. and because of what happened last night, your body was still sore, leaving you unable to get out of bed. giyuu, feeling bad, left to get breakfast for you after helping you back into your dried clothes. much to your dismay, it was still raining heavily. neither you nor giyuu had an umbrella, so you were both forced to stay in this hotel. it's not like you had a problem with the situation you're in right now. but it would be your little brothers' birthday tomorrow, and you have yet to buy his present.

you let out a sigh as you watch heavy droplets of water splatter onto the window, blurring your view of the outside.

"are you sure? you barely ate," giyuu placed his empty bowl next to yours before taking a seat next to you on the bed. you instinctively leaned into him as he wrapped his arms around you, keeping you warm during this cold weather.

you let your eyes wander to your bowl of porridge. just as giyuu had said, you had barely eaten any of it. three mouths at most. "hm, i don't know. i lost my appetite, i guess," you shrugged, closing your eyes. for some reason, you got a feeling that something bad was going to happen today. you frowned at that thought, blaming the gloomy weather.

"it's fine," you replied before pressing your lips against giyuus' soft ones. you decided to relish in this moment, forcing yourself to push the negative thoughts out of your head, though the feeling stayed, leaving your heart to ache. or is it aching because of what giyuu was doing? you hoped it was the latter.
