"that's strange. do you think they overslept?" tanjiro asked, just as confused as you are.

"hino-san would never oversleep," ayumu added, ending his sentence with a burp. "excuse me."

"ah, that's true..."

"they were called to an emergency pillar meeting earlier this morning."

"aoi-san! good morning!" tanjiro greeted as said girl entered the kitchen to help wash the dishes. "a pillar meeting? did something happen?" you asked.

"i'm not sure. you'll have to ask them if you want to know."

"oh, alright." you said your goodbyes to the younger girl before leaving the kitchen.

"do you have any plans for today?" tanjiro asked, following you down the hallway. "mmm, not really," you hummed. taking a second to think. "maybe i'll go out with giyuu if he's free after the meeting?"

tanjiro perked up at the mention of the water pillars' name, a huge smile forming on his face. "you're gonna go out with him? like a date?"

"i would like to go on a date with mio-san too," ayumu volunteered, raising his hand.

"oh yeah," tanjiro nodded, holding back his laugh. "i'm sure giyuu-san would like that."

"and what are you going to do? strangle him with a scarf again?" you questioned your younger brother, reminding him about the time he forced giyuu to try on his clothes.

"mio-san was having fun-" ayumu cut himself off when he noticed someone at the end of the hallway. "oh my god! oh my god! it's pew pew guy!" he jumped excitedly, pointing to the boy in front.

"pew pew guy..?" you asked, unsure of how to comprehend what your brother just said.

"oh! it's genya!" tanjiro exclaimed, waving at the boy with the mohawk.

"i told you to stop calling me that..." genya muttered under his breath in annoyance, narrowing his eyes at ayumu.

"give me your gun! give it, give it!"

"what?!" your eyes widened at your brothers' words. "gun??? you gave him a gun before???"

"n-no! i did not!" genya panicked, waving his hands around while shaking his head. "i-"

"aha! found it!"

"ayumu! you put that down right now!"

when shinobu returned, you noticed giyuu was not with her. you then found out that he had an argument with one of the pillars and went back home right after the meeting ended. upon hearing that, you thanked shinobu and left to find giyuu.

"giyuu?" you knocked on his door again, hoping he would open it this time. but to no avail. "are you asleep? or are you ignoring me?"

"okay, i was hoping we could have lunch together but never mind. i'll go with shinobu inste-" the door slid open before you could even finish your sentence.
