the sound of rain pelting against the window did not wake you up. if anything, it made you want to go back to sleep. it was the shivers running through your body that woke you. your room was freezing and although you liked the cold, this was just too much. with your eyes still closed, you reached a hand out, searching for your blanket to cover yourself with.
you stretched your arms open, sliding them up and down the bed, only for your hands to meet nothing but the sheets and pillows. "mmmffggmhmmf.." you let out a strange sound as you yawned and stretched in bed.
"ugh..." forcing your eyes open, you reluctantly push yourself to sit up. the room was dark, and curtains were drawn to prevent light from entering. you let your eyes wander around before landing on a clock.
2:33 a.m.
"ho," you glanced around the room one more time before realising you were no longer in ayumu's room, but your own.
your window rattled as a gust of wind blew past, the sound startling you.
it's two in the morning. i should go back to sleep. why did i even wake up? how troublesome.
you let out a huff as your back hit the mattress below you. laying down once again, you closed your eyes to fall asleep. it's so cold... where's my blan- ah.
in an instant, you were back in a sitting position, slightly more awake now. you looked around your bed, searching for your blanket.
"hmmm???" sliding your legs off the bed, you allowed them to dangle on the edge for a while before standing up. where did it go?
taking a step forward, your feet landed on a material that did not feel like the wooden plank floor.
it was your blanket.
"how did you get here, ugh." you snatched it off the ground with a sigh as you got ready to throw yourself back onto your bed. but the sound of a door closing stopped you.
you turned away from your bed to face your door, expecting to see someone there.
no one.
were you hearing things?
whatever.
ignoring your thoughts, you turned back around and stared at your bed.
it's so empty.
...
dumping your blanket onto your bed, you made your way out of the cold room and into the hallway. somehow, the hallway was colder.
you closed your room door and walked towards a different room. you knocked your fist against the door a few times before entering.
"giyuu?" closing the door behind you, you notice a figure sitting on the bed. "oh, you're awake."
"yeah," he nodded. "why are you here?"
"er, i..." you felt like a child running into their parents' room after having a nightmare. even though that wasn't the case. you were actually having a pretty good sleep. you just felt a little lonely, that's all. "can i sleep here, with you, for tonight?"
a soft rumble of thunder sounded through the room just as you asked your question.
"yeah, okay." giyuu shifted to the side to give you space. it was only until you made it to the edge of the bed when you realised something.
"oh, wait." turning around, you start to make your way out of the room. "i'll go get my bl-" your movements were halted when a warm hand grabbed your cold one.
"use mine."
"but then you'll be cold."
"no, it's fine."
