Chapter XXIII. - The Reveal

Lucia felt as if she had fallen into a nightmare. She was still very happy a few hours ago. She had talked to her moms through her scroll, who told her that her grounding was over, and that they would take the entire Saturday off this weekend so that they could finally spend some time as a family. Lucia welcomed this with bursting joy and couldn't wait for the weekend to arrive. The brunette girl was so excited that this time she made an exception and asked William and Violet for permission to let Axel stay with them for a few hours. The two adults had no objections. Lucia and Axel went out into the back garden, sat down in a large porch swing and held hands and had a pleasant conversation.

Then everything changed.

When they rang the front door, Lucia already knew something was wrong. Paulina cried into her neck and told him that Hunter and Amity had been kidnapped. At first Lucia didn't understand what Paulina said. She just looked at her best friend's tear-soaked face in bewilderment and carried her gaze over Willow's gloomy face, then her gaze fell on Caleb, who was in a very worn state. It was then that Lucia realized exactly what had happened.

The brunette girl felt an unexpected, almost physical pain. It was as if a dagger had been thrust into her brain and turned inside it. She almost didn't notice William walking next to her and then leading her to the kitchen with the Park family. Violet immediately started making tea, and soon served it in large mugs. Willow refused her own portion and then asked the William's to let Paulina and Caleb stay here while she joined Luz and the others to find Hunter and Amity. Violet and William nodded at that. Willow then hugged her children and promised them that she would bring their father back safely. After that, Willow left.

Not long after, the bell rang again, but this time William opened the door. It was the Porter family who also wanted the Violets to take care of Kevin, while Gus and Matt joined the search teams. Violet and William, of course, agreed to this too.

After everyone had finished their drinks, Violet gently suggested that they go up to Lucia's room and get some rest. As soon as there is any news, they will be notified. Paulina, Caleb and Lucia didn't even hear what was being said to them, they just looked ahead. Kevin and Axel looked at each other, then both stood up. Axel gently helped Lucia up, and Kevin took Paulina and Caleb's hands, then the boys slowly led the others upstairs, entered Lucia's room and took their seats. Axel sat next to Lucia on the bed and then began to rub his girlfriend's hand soothingly. Paulina was sobbing quietly on the couch. Caleb gently caressed his sister's back, and Kevin sat in one of the armchairs and looked sadly at his friends.

After a few minutes, another ring broke the silence, and a few seconds later Zelmira opened the door. As soon as Zelmira saw the tearful Paulina, she immediately rushed to her. Caleb quickly stepped aside and gave way to the three-eyed witch. Paulina hugged her girlfriend and soaked Zelmira's hoodie with her tears. The three-eyed girl gently wrapped her arms around the ash blonde haired witch as she whispered comforting words into her ear.

Lucia just didn't want to believe that this had happened. The brunette was sure it was just a bad dream. After all, there is no reality where her mother, Amity Noceda, could be kidnapped. That Amity Noceda, who even at the age of fifteen stood up against a mad witch hunter with the powers of the Collector and won against him. Still, then who would be able to kidnap not only her mother, but also Hunter Park, who has proven many times why he is the head of the Peacekeeper Coven. The whole situation is completely absurd.

Lucia slapped her knee angrily.

Damn it! She's not going to sit here while her mother is missing! She has to help her somehow!

With that, the brunette girl jumped up from her seat and started towards the door, but she felt Axel pull her back onto the bed.

"Where are you going?" Axel asked.
