A week and a half later
''Ugh fuck.''
Beth looks up from her phone as she hears Viv's soft grumble after they spend the day shopping for Josh and raises an eyebrow as she notices the Dutch rub her face with an annoyed frown after she retreated to the kitchen to study a bit after she tucked Josh in.
She stands up as she notices her right hand come up to pinch the bridge of her nose, knowing it's the sign of an oncoming headache, and walks over knowing they need the woman fit for their match against Chelsea the next day.
''What's wrong?'' She asks softly as she slides behind the chair Viv is sitting on, she places her hands on her tense shoulders as Viv just sighs and gently digs her thumbs in the hard muscles she finds there. ''Sit up before your shoulders will hurt Vivi.'' She murmurs.
Viv sits up wincing as she feels Beth massage the knots out of her shoulders and slowly leans her head back against her shoulder. ''I just received an essay with a deadline.'' She breaths out. ''I have to hand it in before Wednesday, just scrolling down those questions shows me that I need at least spend three hours every day to reach it.''
Beth wraps her arms around her shoulders from behind as soon as she feels the tension in Viv's shoulders lessen, the touching, hugging from behind, and occasional hand holding slowly becoming an all-day thing, and leans her chin on Viv's head as she glances at the screen. ''Well I would offer to help, but that would mean more work for you because you have to translate it.'' She muses as she tries to read the Dutch text on screen.
She smiles slightly as Viv chuckles and squeezes her shoulders softly. ''But I can offer you to go out with Josh for a bit so you can study.'' She murmurs. ''I could take him for a walk with the girls tomorrow after the match so you can study at the hotel.''
''Beth you already do too much.'' Viv breaths out. ''I can't ask you to do that, you already saved my arse today because of that spontaneous interview.''
''You're not asking, I am offering.'' Beth points out with a slight grin. ''And it gives me some time with my favorite little guy before Lotte, Leah and I have to leave for AC.''
''I honestly have no idea how I can thank you for everything you do.'' Viv whispers with a shake of her head. ''I am slowly feeling like words aren't enough.''
''You don't have to thank me at all.'' Beth murmurs as she runs her thumb up the side of Viv's neck smiling as she hears her soft hum. ''I am more than happy to spend some time with JoJo, Viv.'' She adds softly. ''And if that helps you relax a bit more and allows you to focus on your studies, I am more than happy to help.''
''You are one of a kind you know that?'' Viv asks softly after typing down an answer to one of the questions.
''You think the world can handle two of my kind?'' Beth asks chuckling.
''Well I sure can't.'' Viv teases. ''One Bethany Jane Mead in my life is more than enough to keep me on my toes.''
''Always here to please you.'' Beth murmurs, her jaw drops as Viv immediately leans her head back to look at her with an eyebrow raised and quickly covers her mouth. ''Don't go all Katie on me, that was not meant to sound like that.'' She laughs, hoping that the blush on her cheeks isn't shown.
Viv laughs pulling the hand covering her mouth away and squeezes it softly. ''You sure about that? It did come out quite quickly.''
''Be quiet Miedema.'' Beth grumbles as she drops her head. ''Not everything I say is an innuendo, arse.''
''No, just every second word.'' Viv muses, she winces as Beth slaps the back of her head and whips around to look at her with an eyebrow raised. ''Did you just slap me?'' She asks chuckling as Beth immediately jumps back.
