First real fight

''Mama!''

Viv catches Josh as he jumps in her arms right after he runs over to her and kisses his head. ''Hiya baby.'' She murmurs as she hugs him tightly, she gently tugs on his Arsenal jersey and chuckles. ''Couldn't decide what to wear today?''

''No, you and mummy were both playing.'' Josh giggles. ''Grandpa gave me this!''

Viv looks at his back as he turns slightly and runs her hand over it with a grin as she reads the Meadema 20 on the back. ''That's a very nice shirt, right mummy?'' She sighs inwardly as Beth just nods her head knowing she is sad that they lost the chance to enter the Olympics and adjusts her hold on Josh. ''Ready to head to the hotel? It's bedtime for JoJo.''

She grabs both of their bags as Beth hums, kissing Josh's head as he reaches for Beth and shoulders both of their bags as soon as Beth takes him. She follows them out of the stadium as Beth walks in front of her and speeds up as she notices Josh relax against her knowing he won't be awake for long. ''Will you please talk to me?'' She breaths out as she walks beside her girlfriend.

''Not now Viv.'' Beth sighs out. ''Just give me a bit.''

Viv quirks an eyebrow as soon as Beth calls her Viv for the first time ever and glances down at Josh, she sighs inwardly as she notices Beth calmly run her hand up his back knowing she tries to soothe him so he doesn't feel their emotions and slowly shakes her head knowing she is in for a hard night.

After they arrive at the hotel and grab a quick bite with Josh after he woke up complaining he is hungry, the women spend the evening trying to power him out and make it seem like everything is alright so he doesn't worry.

After a couple of hours, Viv walks out of Josh's room with a sigh after they had trouble tucking him in and crosses the living room to walk into the bedroom, she walks towards the balcony as she notices Beth standing against the railing and leans against the door frame. ''Are you still ignoring me, or can we talk?'' She asks as she crosses her arms.

''I'm tired,'' Beth mumbles as she turns on her heels. ''Let's just go to bed, Viv.''

Viv sighs throwing her arm out to block Beth as she tries to walk past her and quirks an eyebrow. ''Second time you call me Viv today.'' She starts. ''What happened to not going to bed angry and not talking about what is bothering us?''

''Not now Vivianne.'' Beth groans. ''Please.''

Viv slowly shakes her head and drops her arm with a sigh. ''Alright.'' She breaths out shrugging as she steps into the room first, she walks over to the bed to grab her pillow and moves towards the bedroom door.

''Where are you going?'' Beth asks frowning.

''The living room.'' She replies. ''Good night Beth.''

''Vivi.'' Beth sighs. ''You don't have to sleep on the couch.''

''Well, it won't change a thing right?'' Viv asks as she opens the door. ''I either lay here in silence or on the couch.''

''Really Viv?'' Beth sighs.

''Yes really, if you want to be like this after losing a match so be it but I won't be the one you can let it all out on.''

''It wasn't just a fucking match Vivianne! It meant everything or nothing, so excuse me for being sad that we didn't make it!'' Beth exclaims frowning. ''Besides I am not only sad we didn't reach the Olympics, but also because I can't experience it with you!''

''It was all or nothing for the both of this Beth and we fucking knew one of us would be sad in the end!'' Viv replies, just as snarky as Beth did. ''You don't see me ignoring you.''

''Because your team fucking won, god dammit!'' Beth exclaims as she throws her hands in the air in defeat. ''You have no reason to feel fucking sad, but come at me for being it!''

''Mummy, mama no!''

Viv quickly shuts her mouth as Josh's scared yell interrupts their fight and looks down as she feels little arms wrap tightly around her thigh. ''No fighting!'' Josh cries. ''And no leaving!''

Viv sighs throwing her pillow onto the bed as he hides his face against her thigh and picks him up, she cups the back of his head as he immediately hides his face against her neck and shoots Beth a look.

Beth immediately softens knowing they are the reason Josh got triggered once again and tries to climb out of bed, Viv stops her with one look and shakes her head. ''We'll continue later.''

''Vivi.'' Beth tries.

''No Beth, I have to make sure he calms down and sleeps.'' Viv sighs out. ''We'll talk later.''

''I ca..''

''He's my son.'' Viv breaths out not even thinking about the impact it makes on Beth. ''I'll deal with him, good night Beth.'' She walks out of the room not noticing the absolute heartbreak entering the blonde's eyes and crosses the living room to walk back into Josh's room, she lays down on his bed keeping him against her chest, and kisses his head. ''It's okay darling, nobody is leaving.'' She reassures even though her mind tells her something else.

She calmly runs her hand up his back as he cuddles close, tucking his blanket around the both of them, and holds him close after he grabs his favorite teddy that Beth gave him made out of one of Juney's shirts.

''Mummy?'' Josh asks softly.

''Mummy is in the bedroom darling,'' Viv whispers as she runs her fingers through his blonde locks, she kisses his head as he snuggles close and relaxes against the pillow. ''Story time?'' She asks him softly.

''Please, mama.''

She turns on her back smiling as he immediately crawls on top of her and slowly runs both of her hands up his back as he relaxes against her chest. ''Once there was a baby star. He lived up near the sun. And every night at bedtime that baby star wanted to have fun.'' She starts her voice soft and sweet.

''He would shine and shine, and fall and shoot and twinkle oh so bright.'' She continues as Josh looks up at her with a tired grin, she taps his nose soaking in his soft giggles, and kisses his forehead. ''And he said, Mummy, Mama, I'll run away if you make me say goodnight.''

''Do you know what his mummy and mama did?''

''No, what did they do Mama?'' Josh asks tiredly as he relaxes fully on top of her.

''They.'' Viv bites her lip as he sighs contently and looks up at the ceiling. ''They kissed his sparkly nose and said, 'No matter where you go, no matter where you are, no matter how big you grow, and even if you stray far, we will love you forever.'' She tells him softly, she nuzzles his nose in his blonde locks and kisses his head.

''Because you will always be our baby star.'' She whispers. ''We love you, baby boy.''

''I love you and Mummy too, mama,'' Josh mumbles tiredly.

''We know you do, good night sweetheart.'' She keeps both of her arms wrapped around him as he drifts off to sleep with a soft sigh and looks at the tiny stripe of moonlight hitting the ceiling, she sighs softly as the whole night enters her mind on repeat, the words she uttered pulling at her heart knowing how deeply she hurt her girlfriend.

She glances down at Josh, smiling sadly as she notices a smile on his sleeping face, and softly kisses his head knowing the past three weeks were hard on him too after she brought him to stay with Beth instead of with her after Danielle kept trying to disturb his peace.

She closes her eyes, regret filling her gut as she remembers what she told Beth right before she left the room knowing she practically told her girlfriend that Josh isn't hers, and shakes her head as she inwardly curses herself for being so cold after Beth showed clearly that she just needed someone to hold her and not someone to talk to.

She blows out a breath knowing she won't catch any rest with her mind going in overdrive and carefully rolls Josh off of her so she is cuddled against her side, she curls her arm around his waist as he easily adjusts to the new position in his sleep and gazes up at the sky through the tiny gap of the curtains contemplating how she can make it up to Beth.
