Kookie's POV

Tae and I go for a round two with him straddling me in one of the office chairs. I moan after completion with the thought of what a wonderful 'workaround' this was.

It's after hours when we leave my office holding hands and giggling. The lobby has low lighting, and everyone appears to have left for the weekend.

"Oh, hey, Mr. Tae. Hey boss," a voice says. We both turn around and Tae Juan walks towards us and pushes the button for the elevator.

"Oh, Tae Juan, what are you doing here so late?" I ask.

"Finishing up my end of the month numbers. You want them by Monday, boss." The entire time we speak, his eyes are focused on Tae with a face plastered with a big goofy smile.

"Alright, Okay," I say as Tae just smiles holding onto my hand.

Tae and I enter the elevator and he follows. I press the button for the ground level where my driver is waiting. Tae Juan presses the button for the garage level.

"Tae Juan, how is your lovely wife? It was nice to meet her at our holiday party," Tae says, unable to not be social and polite.

"Oh, her. Uh, she's well. She enjoyed the food and uh the party." Tae smiles as the elevator reaches the garage level first. "Uh, Mr. Tae, were you aware your pants are on inside out?" Tae immediately squeezes my hand and stiffens. "They weren't earlier. Uh, I would have noticed." The doors open and Tae Juan steps out.

Tae's speechless. "You have a nice weekend," I say with a smile.

"I'll try but certainly not as nice as yours." The doors close and I turn to my fiancé whose cheeks burn with crimson. Oh godness, it's the walk of  shame again for my Tae.

Jae's POV:

"Mr. and Mr. Hoseok, everything looks in order here. I think your home would be a great environment for a child. Your financials look good, and I have three great references. In fact, they are probably the best references I've ever seen from some very prominent citizens," the older stocky gentleman says with a slight chuckle.

"So, we have several newborns due to arrive over the next few months. You didn't indicate your preference on your application."

"Ten fingers and ten toes." Hobi says anxiously. "I-I don't mean perfect, we just want a child breathing and—" I take my husband's hand to settle him down.

"Mr. Shin, what my husband means is that we are eager to have a child to love." Hobi nods repeatedly and Mr. Shin grins warmly.

"So, what's the next step Mr. Shin?" I ask. "As you can tell, my husband and I are quite eager to adopt."

"Of course, and that's a good thing." Mr. Shin's smile is comforting, and he appears to really care. This agency, Hobi tells me, is highly recommended. "We'll do a background check," my heart drops a bit hearing those words, "to make sure you aren't serial killers." Hobi and I both stare blankly as Mr. Shin laughs loudly and suddenly halts seeing we are not laughing. "Oh my, that was a joke." We both smile.

"The background check looks for any issues with child endangerment or any unstable mental health concerns." I squeeze Hobi's hand. "Are there any concerns I should know about?" Mr. Shin asks. His face is free of expression letting me know the seriousness of this issue.

"Yes, I had –"

"Yes, my husband was treated for work exhaustion several years ago and briefly used some drug treatment, under a doctor's supervision, of course," Hobi says cutting off my attempt to share. I just stare at him and slowly close my half open mouth.
