Part 95: Ungrateful ding dongs

Jungkook's POV

"Hey honey, look who stopped by. Tae and Kookie. They have the twins for the weekend and brought them to meet Kiki," Jae says.

Hobi looks up and freezes with startled eyes. He's totally caught off guard. I bite down on my lip to suppress the laugh that wants to escape. Tae and I are definitely unwelcome. It's worse than I thought.

Little Kiki immediately crawls over towards Kwan. Hobi steps in and quickly scoops her up.

Kiki starts crying and reaching for Kwan as Ryug heads straight for Kiki's wonderland of toys.

"Uh, hi," obi says. "Jae didn't say we were having company." Kiki is starting to fuss as she wants to meet her new friends.

"Dude, if we keep waiting for an invite to meet Kiki, she'll be 20," I say.

"Hi, Kiki," Tae says smiling brightly at the little cutie.

"Hobi, put her down. She wants to meet everyone," Jae says.

"Are you guys clean?" Hobi asks.

"Tae and I are, but I'm going to say no for the twins."

"Kookie, stop teasing him."

"Who's teasing? They touch or taste everything they see and Ryug has a snotty nose. Just this morning Ryug was eating—"

"Kookie babe, you are not helping," Tae says.

"Okay, I'm teasing. Ryug doesn't have a snotty nose, today."

"And that's a very normal 2-year-old," Jae says removing Kiki from Hobi's grip and placing her on the floor with Kwan.

Just then Kwan reaches out. "Kiki. Play Kiki."

Kwan sits next to Kiki and hugs her.

"Aww!" Everyone, except Hobi, says looking at the two little girls.

Kiki then slowly leans over to give Kwan a very sloppy wet baby kiss.

"No, Kiki, no!" Hobi shouts as the group laughs.

"Hobi, they're babies," Tae says. "Haven't you heard it said that God takes care of babies and fools?"

Everyone in the group laughs. Again, not Hobi.

"I just don't want Kiki ill."

"Babe, we must let her be a baby. You can't shelter her," Jae says.

"Oh, look at them playing."

"Well, Kiki can't walk. She might get trampled by the bigger kids."

"They aren't very heavy, she'll be okay. Maybe a small bruise," I say.

"Kookie, again, you aren't helping," Tae says.

"Hobi, they're kids. They will figure it out. Namjoon and Jin have taken the twins three times to meet a big tribe of older cousins and they love it," Tae says.

"Really?" Hobi says.

"Yeah, dude, Namjoon says they run, fall, fight, and cry. But mostly they laugh and have fun."

Just then Jae and Hobi hear the most delightful laugh coming from Kiki as Ryug is showing off his flips.

Hobi is shocked because he's never seen or heard Kiki in a fit of laughter. It's wonderful. The kids play for several hours. There are falls, tears, a few fights, and lots of fun, laughter and wet kisses.

"Jae, look how happy she is," Hobi says.

"Thanks, Kookie and Tae. I didn't realize what Kiki was missing. What we were missing out on," Hobi says as Jae's eyes bathe in tears.
