Part 84: Gardenias and egg salad

Mia has packed clothing and other necessary items that Teoki will need.

She and Teoki have a quiet breakfast where he speaks minimally, however he says nothing about the outcome of yesterday's meeting where he was removed from his position of CEO of The Triton Corporation.

Mia makes a few calls to confirm Teoki's admission to a special unit of a private health care facility known for the treatment of rare diseases such as his.

As Mia ends her call, Teoki rises, and a guard comes forward.

"Fuck, can I at least have the dignity of a private pee in my own home?!" Mia nods as the guards watches Teoki as he enters the hall bathroom. The guard keeps an eye on the bathroom door.

Mia looks at her watch and it's been ten minutes. She stands and views the door to the bathroom.

"Teoki! It's time!" Mia hears nothing and calls to him again. There is no answer.

"Check on him," she says to one of the guards.

Taehyung's POV

I just finished getting my kitchen sparkly clean and lemon fresh. I decide to take a short break before I pull out my vacuum cleaner and dust.

I go into my clean kitchen and find my stash of cheese thingies. I head to the couch with my bowl and put up my feet.

Ooh look at that. Time for my K-drama. Oh goodness, I think this is the episode where Sun-Jae will find out he is not the daddy. That Lin-Woo is such a hoe. I smile with anticipation.

After about 10 minutes of comfort, the doorbell rings. Who could that be? I look through the peep hole and see an arrangement of flowers. Oh, that Kookie is too sweet. The guy holding them appears to be a teenager with his baseball cap pulled down.

I focus on the flowers and smile. I open the door wide as the kid steps in. He's hidden behind the blooms and mumbles, "delivery for Mr. Kim." I smile brightly and reach for the vase. As I turn my back to place the vase of flowers down, I notice the flowers have Gardenias in them. Kookie knows Gardenias make me sneeze. A chill races over my flesh. As I quickly place the flowers down, I hear a frightening sound.

The loud click of my door locking. I have never heard a more chilling sound that clearly shouts danger.

I have no doubt that it's Teoki. A million things run through my mind but my body freezes with fear.

I tremble as I feel a hand slowly snake around my waist and his hot breath against the back of my neck.

"Saeji."

He gives me a confirmation I didn't need.

I whisper. "Please don't. Please don't."

He's quiet in the most terrifying way. He's not pressed into me but his grip on my waist is strong. He is so close.

My mind wants to leave my body because the terror is too heavy. I struggle to stay present finding my voice and my body.

"No"!!!

I turn and push my shoulder into him as hard as l can and he barely moves, but it's enough to get out of his grip.

He just stands and looks at me. He is close and I think, run to the safe room.

I run and, before I get to the stairs, he has me. He catches me around my waist again as I kick and scream.

He holds me and says, "Shhhh....It's okay, I'm here." His voice is relaxed while at the same time being diabolical.
