Jungkook's POV

"Welcome, friend," Suga says holding the door open for me as I enter his home.

"Thanks for allowing me to come over with such short notice," I say as he shows me to the living area where we sit.

"Of course, it sounded important. Can I offer you a drink?"

"Sure, I'll take a beer if you have it."

Suga shows his gummy smile. "Dude, you are speaking my language." He steps over to the bar and returns with two uncapped frosty bottles.

"Wait a minute," he says reaching for two coasters to place our bottles on. "My Jiminie is forgiving of a lot of things but not staining his oak table." I chuckle.

"Hey, my fiancé taught me better than that. I was about to ask for one." We share a relatable laugh.

"Suga, I'll try not to take up too much of your time –"

"No this is perfect, Jungkook. Our guys are out shopping so we have plenty of time." I toss back a chug of my beer and laugh.

"My husband has a black belt in shopping. He's too cute."

"What? I think Tae went to that same school." He scoffs out a chuckle nodding his head.

"Jungkook, there's nothing that makes my baby happier than an armfull of Gucci bags."

"This season of course," I add, and we clink our two bottles together in agreement.

"So, what brings you over to see me, Jungkook?"

"I just need to talk to someone that could relate," I say slowly turning the brown glass in my hand from side-to-side looking at the label. "But first, I wanted to thank you for your help with Teoki Triton. I'm sorry that's its been so late coming. We could not have done it without you and dad's team." He nods.

"Jungkook, no need to thank me. Lisa asks and I say yes. The things that woman has done for me and Jimin I could never repay. Both personal and business. Also, you and Tae are family. And I consider you a friend," Suga says with a soft smile. "So, tell me more about what's going on, friend."

"Suga, I have to admit that marriage scares me. I mean I love him insanely and can't wait to marry my baby but..." Nervously I drag my fingers through my hair, pausing my speech.

"How does it scare you, Jungkook?"

"W-What if I can't protect Tae? What if something happens like—"

"Like Teoki Triton." I bite my lower lip and give a faint nod. "I love him so much the thought of him being hurt again or losing him... is so p-painful." My voice cracks and I quickly lower my head. I don't want him to see me being such a mess. This is not how I expected this to go.

He gives me a few moments to breathe. "First, I want to say that I respect your vulnerability. It's not easy for us guys to share such tender feelings. I appreciate your trust in doing that with me." His words allow me space to breathe again.

"This Triton assault really shook Tae and me up. We talked about it. I was holding him too tight. But now I'm letting go," I share.

"Are you letting go? I don't think so. Because if you were, I don't think you'd be feeling so scared." I never considered that.

"Jungkook, it's normal to feel fearful. My goodness, especially after Triton. You're not superman. Well, to Tae you are. We have to love like we're not afraid of losing. I know, it's easier said than done," he advises.
