X: Task at Hand
Third POV
Katsuki found himself coming home much later than he anticipated, that being at six in the morning.
Nearly having cops raid one of your most active drug pickups would have any mob figure on high alert. But he drove them and their k9 dogs away, with means he'd rather not discuss.
Bone tired, he undid his tie, and trudged up to his bedroom, to where Izuku should've been asleep.
Or feeding sweet little Akiko in her room.
To his surprise however, the shopping bags had been placed messily in a corner, as Izuku and Akiko laid fast asleep in his bed.
Stepping closer he fixed the bags so they'd be in a neat row before draping the blanket closer to Izuku ans Akiko's bodies.
His gaze slowly lingering towards the nightstand closer to Izuku, where a silver wedding ring sat inconspicuously.
"Did Izuku wear that yesterday?" Katsuki found himself pondering for a brief moment before clicking his tongue.
"Great." Katsuki murmured quietly, knowing he really had to get over himself.
He wasn't sure if it was pity or the fact that a child was involved that he found himself having an internal battle with the emotions he felt.
Katsuki just needed to send Izuku on this mission to show he wasn't different or special.
He would be just like the rest of Katsuki's deadly motley crew.
Right.
Katsuki trudged away, towards his closet so he could get ready for today.
• • • Noon • • •
Izuku found his heart having palpitations every couple of seconds or so.
After breakfast, Uraraka had told him to go get ready for his mission, then to go down to Katsuki's office for his final debriefing.
Akiko was downstairs with Ashido, another woman with pink curly hair and golden scleras; who was good friends with Uraraka and was the girl's personal caretaker until Izuku returned.
Even still, Izuku felt so nervous.
He had to come back to Akiko no matter what.
He placed the towel he currently wore down, slipping on undergarments before wearing a emmiol flower U-neck slit halter vest and a Net-de-porter Magda Butrym leather wide-leg pants.
Donning a pair of plain black shoes, he snatched the pair of sunglasses Sero had handed to him earlier that morning, stating it was a necessity to their lifestyle.
Can't have anyone reading your eyes.
With a gaze or two in the mirror, Izuku was ready to go.
Downstairs, Izuku kept his hands to his side as Uraraka gave him whispers of encouragement.
Though to be honest, that did little for him to feel better.
