XVI:  Strangest Normalcy

Third POV

Another week had passed.

Everything was so monotonous.

Almost as if an unnerving peace had taken over the manor.

• • •

A brightly colored cartoon played on Izuku's phone, which had finally been returned to him after begging for a while, keeping little Akiko occupied while Izuku made himself breakfast.

He could hear her coos of excitement, taking the occasional glances to see her squeezing onto her Pozy.

He was just happy she was.

Suddenly, his attention was drawn to footsteps entering the kitchen, finding himself grow quiet at the owner of said footsteps.

Katsuki.

At this point in time, they weren't friends but it wasn't a strained relationship like when they first met. It was more like a neutral acquaintanceship.

Majority of the week they had stayed out of each other's way, only seeing each other in the kitchen or if Katsuki had stopped in the living room whenever Akiko was uncontrollably fussy.

Speaking of Akiko and Katsuki's relationship...

Izuku never would've guessed it.

Despite how uncomfortable and nervous he became around the Prime Alpha, Akiko was the opposite.

Exhibit A.

"Aw-Ba! Ba-Ba!" She squealed excitedly, as her eyes were immediately taken off the screen they were once glued to the second Katsuki's arrival to the kitchen had been made known.

Katsuki just stared at her, keeping his hands in his pocket before his gaze wandered to Izuku.

Who looked to be slightly ataken back at her reaction.

"...Good Morning," Izuku nodded, his tone quiet, "I hope you slept well."

Izuku could admit that he had shifted around a bit much during last night out of odd discomfort.

"I did." Katsuki answered contently, "Though with the amount of tossing and turning you did, I doubt it."

Izuku shrugged, turning away for a moment to flip his pancake over, "you're right about that."

"Sorry, if that disturbed you."

Katsuki looked away, walking closer to the island that Akiko was sitting at, taking a seat just one a way from hers.

"I'm the one that insisted on you being there. My fatigue is no one's fault, but my own."

Izuku bit his lip, turning off the gas stove and placing the omelette on the plate, "You also work pretty late."

"I don't think I've seen you eat a proper meal within the past week or so."

Grabbing a fork he walked closer to the island, watching how Akiko sputtered at the sight of Katsuki. Taking a napkin he wiped away at her lips.
