XXI: Like Emeralds

Third POV

The medical room was silent, but not silent.

Those not needed awaited from the outside, only allowed to look in at the scene.

Only 15 minutes had passed since their arrival, and yet everything had turned into a shitshow.

No one could've expected that the original two hour plan for Izuku and Akiko to be 'alone' at the park would result in this mess.

Akiko, placed in a medical bassinet and stitches being placed on a gash on her shoulder due to a bullet, was completely knocked out after succumbing to the pain.

And Izuku, being wrestled down to the ground by Katsuki of all people, who kept Izuku's blood splatter stained face (courtesy of Akiko's wound) into a crumpled position on the ground in an attempt calm him.

"I'm her dam," Izuku repeated over and over again, his face buried into Katsuki's chest, staining his white button up, "This is all my fault,"

"My baby...!"

Izuku was being rocked around, his tears still going and his arm still stinging from the graze.

Izuku could feel Katsuki's hand gently stroke at his hair, his lips to Izuku's forehead but it wasn't a kiss.

Both of them were breathing heavily, as Katsuki had to put his all into getting Izuku to leave Akiko alone so they could try to stop the bleeding as much as they could.

At first, Izuku was standing, but then he'd just collapsed from shock.

And Katsuki came crashing down with him.

Izuku's body shivered badly, as Katsuki attempted to calm him down, his tone going low as he asked what happened,

"I-I dunno," Izuku sniffled hard, his hiccups making it hard, his vocal cords made his words repeat, "I genuinely don't k-know."

The worst kind of cry.

The kind of cry that had your lungs feeling like no air could come out and you'd throw up the rest of your digestive system over.

"I was just sitting with h-her, and I was planning on g-getting up to so she could see the pond b-better..."

A sharp wheeze fell from Izuku, he was held even tighter, and felt Katsuki's hand rubbing his back, "N-next thing I knew, a l-loud pop sounded and I didn't know what it was, next thing I knew I heard another o-one and Akiko was crying and b-blood was dripping down her arm."

"K-Katsuki..." He whined out, sobbing even harder as the scene just wouldn't stop replaying in his mind.

The image was just burned into his head.

"M-my baby! Oh god, my baby-!" Izuku cried out, swallowing thickly though it did little to help the enormous lump in his throat, "T-this is all my fault."

He gripped onto Katsuki's top tighter, leaning closer to the Prime Alpha's neck,

"Y-you were right, whoever it is doesn't care. My baby, my sweet baby is hurt and they w-would've done worse-!"
