Hidden Injuries

Raquel got home from school and she practically ran to her room when she got inside, closing her door behind her and locking it, all while being careful with her right leg She flopped down on her bed and started crying, burying her face in her hands, shaking. Something had happened at school that really shook her up, and she didn't know if she was going to be okay for the concert. She always made herself okay for the concert, but she wasn't sure if she could this time.

She had gotten hurt because of some bullies she had been dealing with the whole school year. They had made her trip on the bleachers and hit her upper right leg, trip over something else and hit her arm on her desk, and she had hit her head as well. She didn't hit it hard, but it was enough to where her head was hurting badly and started to ache a lot. She had ran to her room because she did not want to be seen by the others while she was on the verge of tears. She still didn't want to be seen though because they would see her injuries.

She calmed down after another few minutes, and she slowly got up from her bed to assess all of the spots she has hurting spots on. She wanted to see the extent of them to see if she needed to tell someone about it, which would mean they would cancel the concert.

She saw that the extent of the injuries were pretty bad. The bruises that formed because of what happened were pretty bad looking. She tried to walk on her right leg to see if she could walk, because standing hurt a lot, and she quickly learned that walking hurt just as bad. She tried to hold something to test her hurt arm, and that really hurt as well. That made her feel really scared, because if she's like this, how can she do the concert? She had a solo song she was going to sing for it, but now it may not be possible for her.

*with the others*

Rydel had seen Raquel run to her room, and she was really worried. Usually she would put her stuff in her room and then come out and talk to them about her day, but she hasn't come out ever since going in there. She was worried that something was wrong and that's why she hasn't come out of her room. She had come to the others and told them about it, and they were worried too. They were all wondering what was going on.

They heard the door open upstairs, and then heard footsteps on the stairs. That must be Raquel coming downstairs finally they were all thinking. They were trying to think of what to say or ask about why it took her a moment to come downstairs without overwhelming her. They just wanted to know what was wrong with their sister.

Raquel came fully downstairs, and Rydel smiled seeing her. Although, she could see tear streaks on her cheeks and a few tear drops on her shirt, and that really worried her. "Hey sis. Is everything okay? You usually take just a minute to place your stuff down and then come talk to us, but you took longer. You can come to us whenever needed."

She could see Raquel tear up and she teared up herself. Something was really wrong. Before she could say more, Raquel burst into tears, going to Rydel and hugging her tightly. Rydel took the hug immediately, holding her. She rubbed her back gently, trying to comfort her in whatever way she could. Whatever was wrong, it was obviously bad enough to where she couldn't hide it from them for long.

*back with Raquel*

Raquel soon calmed down a little and sat up, wiping her eyes with her hands. She just couldn't hide what happened from them, especially with how bad everything looked when she had looked at it before. She would need to tell them so they don't ask why she is getting icepacks in the future, and plus, with how bad the bullying got today, she needed to report it.

"Y'all... something happened today, and it was awful..." she said, shuddering a little as she said it. "I can't keep this from you guys at all because of the extent of everything is so bad. I looked in the mirror of my bathroom and it's bad."

Rydel got worried immediately when Raquel said that. "Sis what happened?"

She took a deep breath and just showed them her main injured spots, which was her top right leg and her right arm, tearing up quickly.

Ross gasped upon seeing those places, tearing up. "Sis how did this happen?! Who did this to you?!" He was getting mad quickly. He wasn't mad at her, more at whoever or whatever hurt his little sister.

She explained what happened to her, and everyone was so mad for her. Rocky got up to get her icepacks for her main injuries, and Ellington got up to get her medicine for her head since she said that her head was hurting at the moment. When they got both things, they sat her down and she took the medicine and put the icepacks where they needed to be. When she was settling in, Rydel had walked away to report the bullying situation, all while also reporting what happened today as well.

"Sis do you think you'll be okay for the concert tonight?" Riker asked Raquel gently, rubbing her back because she had started crying.

"I don't know honestly..." she said. "Maybe I just sit out tonight. When I was standing earlier when looking at the extent of my injuries, it really hurt to just stand, so I don't think I can last the whole concert."

He nods. "Maybe you can perform until you start hurting and can't go any longer, and then Gianna can take over for you whenever you step out."

She nods. "That would be amazing honestly. I taught Gianna the chords to all the songs of ours, so she would be really good at it. She even knows the chords to my own songs outside the band, including the one I'm doing tonight."

He nods. "That's perfect then. And hey, you don't need to let us know when you start hurting and need to get off stage. Just go back there, get Gianna to come out for you, and all will be good. We will understand, and I'm sure the fans will too, even though they won't know what's going on with you."

She nods. She felt bad for all of this, but she can't really help it because of what happened. She was excited but also nervous about tonight because of how things will possibly go.

*at the concert*

Raquel was doing her solo song for the portion of the concert they set aside, but her leg was starting to hurt badly. It had already started to hurt, but it was during the song before her solo, so she wanted to wait it out until after, but now she was regretting it.

She was passing by Rocky as she sang, and he noticed her limping and saw tears in her eyes from the pain. He got really worried and stopped strumming his guitar, which made everyone else stop playing their instruments.

Riker picked up what was happening and he helped Raquel off stage, calling for Gianna so she could go out there for Raquel. Gianna ran on stage when she was called, grabbing Raquel's guitar and putting it on. When Riker got her settled on a chair and Stormie was with her, he went back on stage and went to his mic. The crowd looked really worried, which he could see that, especially with the front-seat fans, and he sighed.

He told them what had happened to Raquel that day, but didn't say much of the details for her comfortability. She was never really open about school stuff with the fans, so he wanted to keep that part of her life private, but also let the fans know what was up and why she had to go away. The fans felt so bad when he told them about what Raquel went through, and they all shouted things like "we love you Raquel" and "feel better soon", which made her feel amazing. The fans were always so kind to all of them, so hearing that with what she has been going through made her feel so good despite her not feeling physically good.

They got back to the concert, and Gianna was doing really well with the guitar, which Raquel knew that she would do well because of her teaching her. She was really proud of her.

Even with everything that happened today, she was happy. Her siblings and Ellington have always had her back with everything in the past, and they proved that again today. She was so lucky to have them in her life. She wouldn't want it any other way.
