CHAPTER 50 THE FAKE GEM

Three days after the board examination.......

The result came out. John got the 3rd place in the Top Ten, that's why he was so happy. He didn't want to let anyone know about it for now so he decided to tell it to Colonel Garcia first.

"Congratulations John! You are really smart! Your timing is perfect! Next quarter, the processing for the lateral entry to the PNP will start, so I'm sure you'll pass!" Colonel Garcia said very proudly.

"Brother, please let no one know about this, especially Sarah and her family! I want to surprise her on her birthday!" John said.

"Don't worry John!" Colonel Garcia said with a smile and left John.

That afternoon, John happily went to see Sarah.

"Sarah! My love! Let's go out on your birthday! It's my treat" John said happily.

Since Sarah gave herself to Conrado, she has been tormented by guilt for several days. She knew that she should have broken up with John first before she did that. But what is the reason for her to break up? John is such a nice guy! Is it because of money? She felt ashamed to know that her character is so low if that is her only reason.

"Alright love! Let's spend my birthday together all afternoon!" Sarah answered sweetly.

Sarah wants to make up for her mistake and doesn't want to hurt John. After her birthday, she will tell John that she likes someone else. Her aunt, father and mother were right. She cannot live on love alone.

The lovers continued to talk until they parted in the afternoon. Sarah calmed down seeing how happy John was with her.

John wanted to visit Yvette at that time but he knew that his friend was training as a PNPA cadet so he would just visit her after Sarah's birthday with Colonel Garcia.

John was walking back to quarters when Marvin called him.

"Brother John! There is an invitation to me for the underground MMA. The prize money is triple! I want to join! Maybe you can join me!" Marvin said.

"Oh, it's an underground fight so there are no rules. Although the fighters are not that good, there will be some cheating for sure!" John's warning.

"I can do it! Please! I need money! I don't know of any other way to earn a living!" Marvin said.

Both of Marvin's parents were killed by the drug syndicate so Marvin wanted to join the police force. Unfortunately, he never finished high school. John always told Marvin to learn some technical skills so that he could have a good future but he fell in love with martial arts.

"Alright, but you don't have to say this to anyone!" John said.

"Alright!" Marvin said happily and jumped up and down like a kid.

John shook his head at the young man's actions.

At that time, Sarah was talking to her friend, Grace.

"My God Sarah! Do you know what you did? Do you know that Condrado completely? Maybe your regret will reach the skies if you make the wrong decision!" Her friend said angrily.

"My decision is complete. My mom and aunts were right. Love alone can't bring food on the table." Sarah answered.

"John loves you so much! He's very submissive even though you're not married yet! Every time you raise your voice at him, you don't care how he feels! The way you speak to him seems like you are always right! And he has no right to decide because you won't allow him! It's like you hit the lottery jackpot with John! He is one of a kind!" Grace said to Sarah.
