The friends were shocked when Marco entered the room and overheard what they were talking about. Karla saw Marco's serious expression and couldn't help but get angry when she noticed his look.
"Marco! This is your fault! Are you going to explain yourself to me?" Karla cried, her voice trembling with both anger and hurt.
Marco was taken aback by Karla's reaction. It was his first time seeing her angry, and he couldn't understand why.
"Wait! Hold on! What are you talking about? I heard something about me doing that with someone else, right? What is this?" Marco asked, clearly confused.
"We just want you to tell us the truth! What's really going on between you and Abigail? When did you get her pregnant?" Karla demanded through her tears.
"What!!! Who said I got Abigail pregnant? Wait—are you seriously doubting me?" Marco was stunned by her accusation.
"Marco, please tell us the truth," Kitchie begged as tears streamed down her face.
Marco froze at their words. His mind quickly pieced everything together, and then, unexpectedly, he burst out laughing.
"I get it! You must have read Abigail's text message and overheard our conversation earlier, right? Hey... Abigail is our company secretary and my friend. I asked her to sing at our wedding, but she got pregnant and apologized because she might not be able to sing for us." Marco explained.
Karla remembered the text message she had read: "I'm pregnant. I didn't expect this to happen, so I'm sorry."
Marco continued, "We also have a project presentation at the office. She was stressed and afraid of a miscarriage, so she asked me to help her with it."
Karla recalled another part of their messages: "I'm pregnant so I'll leave everything to you." and Marco's reply, "Okay. I'll take care of everything."
"And earlier, she called because our presentation is coming up this week. She's nervous, so I told her I'd handle it." Marco added, shaking his head in frustration.
Karla and Kitchie exchanged guilty looks. They realized they had jumped to conclusions without checking the facts first.
Marco sighed and turned to leave, but both women quickly stood up, ran after him, and hugged him tightly.
"Sweetheart! I'm so sorry! I thought you really got someone pregnant! Please don't be angry!" Karla sobbed as she clung to him.
"Marco! I'm sorry too! I was unreasonable and doubted you right away. Please forgive me!" Kitchie said as she hugged him as well.
Anyone who saw them would be jealous of Marco, two beautiful women hugging him tightly at the same time.
"Wait! Wait! Don't hug me so tight! I can't breathe! We might all fall over!" Marco said.
That's when Kitchie realized how tightly she was hugging Marco, her chest pressed against his arm. Embarrassed, she quickly pulled away.
Marco flinched, feeling both Karla's and Kitchie's bodies against him. Kitchie's beauty was tempting, and though he tried to ignore it, he couldn't help but feel it.
"Oops! Sorry!" Kitchie said quickly, though deep inside, she was secretly happy she got to hug the man she loved.
"Please, sweetheart! Don't be mad at us. I'm really sorry," Karla pleaded as she continued hugging Marco.
"Okay. I'm really annoyed, but I'm not angry. I understand you misunderstood the text messages. We all make mistakes. But trust me, I'm not a womanizer. And most of all, I love you so much, Karla," Marco said softly, hugging her back.
