Karla was shocked by what she read. Did Marco get Abigail pregnant? Impossible! That's not Marco's character!
Her hands trembled as she handed the cellphone back to Marco. The woman claimed she was pregnant, but she hadn't said if Marco was the father or if he was responsible. Karla didn't want to believe her boyfriend had gotten Abigail pregnant, but what if it was true?
She forced herself to calm down and decided she needed to find out the truth on her own. That night, she went into Kitchie's room and lay down beside her friend to sleep. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she drifted off, still thinking about Abigail's text to Marco.
Past midnight...
The door to the room where Marco slept opened. A shadow slipped inside, moving as silently as a cat, not a sound out of place. The figure carefully watched Marco's sleeping form, then slowly approached him. Leaning down, the person pressed a sweet kiss against his lips, lingering for a few seconds.
A moment later, Kitchie stood up and quietly left the room.
The next day, Karla was lethargic, her mind consumed by the text message she had read. When Abigail had first called Marco, Karla had noticed something in his reaction, though she hadn't been able to place it. Now, her suspicions were growing.
"You look worn out, sweetheart. Something wrong?" Marco asked one afternoon after they returned from Karla's wedding dress fitting.
"No, sweetheart. I've just been busy these past few days with the project I'm working on," Karla replied.
"Just don't overwork yourself. You need to look perfect at our wedding," Marco said with a smile.
After dinner, the two went back to Marco's rented house. Since the wedding was close, Karla had already been staying there. Before bed, she took a shower first.
When she came out, Marco went into the bathroom. His cellphone was left on the cabinet, and Karla couldn't resist the urge to check it, there might be evidence. Knowing the PIN, she quickly unlocked it.
She combed through his messages, Viber, Telegram, Messenger, until she found Abigail's texts. There weren't many, and they seemed ordinary at first, but one chilled her to the bone.
"I'm pregnant, so I'll leave everything to you," Abigail's message read.
"Ok. Don't worry. I'll take care of everything," Marco had replied.
There were no other messages from Abigail, but that exchange was enough to confirm Karla's suspicions.
Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself so Marco wouldn't notice anything. It was hard to accept that her boyfriend had been with another woman, but maybe it was just a one-night stand, an accident. There didn't seem to be love involved—the woman wasn't pushing him for more. She just wanted support from Marco.
Moments later, Marco came out of the bathroom and kissed her on the lips, clearly wanting intimacy. Karla acted normal, hiding her turmoil so she could keep investigating.
Soon the bed shook violently as they made love. Even with the weight of what she had read, Karla reached her peak a couple of times, even surpassing Marco.
"I don't know if I'm just that good in bed, or if you're really too strong! If I hadn't taken your virginity, I'd think you had tons of experience already," Marco joked, kissing her.
Karla froze, embarrassed and guilty, but quickly covered it up.
"No, I'm not! Maybe you're the one with all the experience!" She teased back.
