The next day, Colonel Garcia accompanied John to the PNPA to meet with Yvette. The colonel knows that John is so devastated by the fact that he actually placed 3rd in the board exam but was betrayed by his girlfriend. Any man would be very depressed by this. The colonel knew that it would be better for the friends to meet after almost a year of separation.
Upon arriving at the PNPA, Colonel Garcia immediately spoke to his classmate to summon Yvette. Yvette wonders why she was summoned. She was very surprised and happy to see John. She immediately shed tears and hugged John when she saw him.
"You're ugly!" Yvette jokes with John.
"You too!" John responded and the two went to a room to talk.
John told everything that happened to him including passing as 3rd Placer in the board examination and Sarah's betrayal. Yvette was shocked by John's story and couldn't believe what happened.
"John, Sarah told me that she loves you very much, but her relatives are against it because they think you are really a striker! I feel disgusted and sorry for Sarah. Why did she listen to her relative?" Yvette said.
"I just hope the man is a good person and truly loves her." John said with a sign of regret.
Colonel Garcia returned to the camp to make sure that what John wanted was in order and according to their plan. He feels sorry for the young man and also wants to see the regret of Sarah's family.
Afternoon came.....
"Happy birthday Sarah!" Greetings can be heard from Sarah's friends as they enter the venue.
The family thought they were going to a meeting, so they were surprised when it turned out to be a surprise birthday party from John. Sarah's family did not think that John had the ability to prepare such pomp.
"John is really sweet! You're lucky Sarah!" Sarah's friend Grace said.
No one knows what happened about Conrado and Sarah so Sarah and her relatives were stunned at what Grace said. They felt embarrassed and guilty at John's grand surprise. Is he really just a striker?
After a while, the emcee spoke.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the big birthday celebration of Sarah courtesy of her loving boyfriend, John." The emcee said and continued until he called Colonel Garcia.
"Good evening to all of you. I'm glad that you all came here to celebrate the birthday of John's true love, Sarah!" The colonel said and looked at Sarah with a smile.
Sarah was embarrassed by Colonel Garcia's speech. The colonel described her as John's true love.
"You know, many people don't know, but John graduated as a cum laude in Electronics engineering. He is also a member of the college swimming team. He's a talented and a smart person. The reason why he chose to become a striker is that he wants to join the police force via lateral entry after he passes the board examination." The colonel continued.
Everyone there was surprised, especially Sarah's family when they found out John's true identity. They looked down on John but his good background was hidden deeply so they felt ashamed.
"So while he was reviewing, he decided to become a striker and that's when he met Sarah. It was love at first sight!" The colonel added.
"Meeting Sarah is one of the greatest things that happened in John's life because it inspired John to do his best for the board examination. And he did. Ladies and gentlemen, John made it to the 3rd place in the Electronics engineering board examination!" The colonel said proudly as he looked at Sarah's family.
