Harold didn't hesitate. He shouted at John.

"John! Shoot him! That's Don Pablo, the leader of the drug syndicate! He's going to kill my brother no matter what!"

"Yes, John! Don't hesitate—he'll kill me! End this demon's life!" Wilbert pleaded.

John froze. His mind raced. The decision of whether Wilbert would live or die now rested in his hands. He kept his gun trained on Don Pablo, whose weapon was still pressed against Wilbert's head.

John edged closer, pointing his gun directly at Don Pablo. The drug lord turned his head and locked eyes with him, showing no fear at all.

"Boy, I can find you anywhere. I saw you inside the bar watching that masked dancer. I can get the CCTV footage and track you down anywhere in this country. I'll count to three—drop your weapon, or this man dies!" Don Pablo threatened, his tone cold and firm, as though he'd done this countless times.

"John! He doesn't deserve to live! He's poison to society—shoot him!" Wilbert yelled.

Suddenly, the gun went off. Don Pablo pulled the trigger and shot Wilbert point-blank in the head. Wilbert dropped lifeless to the ground.

Before Don Pablo could turn the gun on John, John fired. Bullets tore into Don Pablo's chest and stomach.

Harold lunged forward to restrain him, but Don Pablo fired back. The bullet struck Harold in the head. He collapsed instantly.

John's eyes widened in horror. Both brothers were dead. Rage consumed him. He shot Don Pablo in the leg, shattering his femur. Another shot hit his shoulder. John aimed for his head—his bullet missed, but still carved a deep gash across the drug lord's face.

Don Pablo writhed in pain, his gun slipping from his hand.

"Finish me! Kill me now! You'll regret it if you don't!" he groaned through clenched teeth.

John raised his gun to end it, but the sound of engines roared through the alley. Black SUVs screeched to a halt. Armed men in dark uniforms poured out. John's heart sank—they weren't the police. They were Don Pablo's men.

Gunfire erupted. Bullets whizzed past John as he darted down the alley, sprinting through shadows to escape. He twisted through side streets, narrowly avoiding each shot.

Then came the sound of sirens. Police patrol cars closed in on the scene. Gunfire exploded behind him. John kept running, but suddenly—another shot cracked. Pain surged through his head. His vision blurred. Darkness consumed him.

Meanwhile...

Mae lingered near the Love Nest, too shaken to go home. She prayed silently that John had made it out alive.

An hour later, ambulances arrived. Curiosity and dread pulled Mae toward the alley. She watched as bodies were lifted one by one into the vans. Her stomach turned when she saw Wilbert and Harold among the dead.

But then—her heart stopped. Police officers were carrying John on a stretcher, blood covering his face. He looked lifeless.

A police colonel bent over him, checking for a pulse. He shook his head and whispered something to the attending doctor. Moments later, the doctor covered John's body with a white sheet.

Mae's knees gave way. She screamed hysterically.

"John! No! My God, no! John!"

She tried to run to him, but officers held her back.

"Please let me in! I need to see him please! I'm his girlfriend!" She begged.

"Miss, it's not safe here. The Saturno syndicate could strike again. They're the ones responsible for all this," One officer said.
