"What are you doing here?" Junkyu's voice cracked with a mixture of fear and indignation. "Get out. Get out of my room right now."

Lee Ann only smiled, taking another step closer to the bed. Her movements were predatory, calculated—like a cat cornering its prey.

"Kaito!" Junkyu shouted, his voice echoing off the sterile walls. "KAITO!"

Lee Ann's laughter was soft and mocking. "Oh, darling, your little bodyguard isn't coming. He's busy playing escort for your mother in the garden right now." She tilted her head, studying Junkyu's panicked expression with apparent amusement. "You should really calm down. All that stress isn't good for expectant mothers. I should know—I've been pregnant myself."

Her voice took on a sickeningly sweet tone as her gaze dropped to Junkyu's swollen belly. "It would be such a tragedy if something happened to those precious little pups growing inside you. Three of them, isn't it? How... overwhelming that must be."

The threat was barely veiled, and Junkyu's protective instincts flared. He pressed both hands against his belly, as if he could shield his unborn children from her very presence.

"What do you want?" he demanded, trying to keep his voice steady despite the terror coursing through him.

"I told you already," Lee Ann said, settling herself into the chair Hyo Jun had vacated, making herself comfortable as if this were a social visit. "I just want to talk. We're practically family, after all—connected by so many... interesting relationships."

"We have nothing to talk about," Junkyu said firmly. "Whatever you think my mom did—"

"Oh, this isn't about your mother, sweet boy," Lee Ann interrupted, her smile turning sharp. "Though his little announcement certainly did make things interesting. No, this is about your beloved JeongWoo. And someone I think you remember quite fondly."

She reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out a photograph, holding it casually between her manicured fingers.

"Tell me, Junkyu, what do you know about your former fiancé's relationship with your current mate?"

Junkyu's blood ran cold. "Haruto is dead. He died in a plane crash six years ago."

"Yes, such a terrible accident," Lee Ann said, her tone dripping with false sympathy. "Two weeks before your wedding day, wasn't it? How devastating that must have been for you."

She leaned forward, extending the photograph toward him. "But did you know that your dear JeongWoo and Haruto were the very best of friends?"

Junkyu stared at the image, his hands trembling as he took it. The photograph showed two men sitting at what appeared to be a high-end restaurant, both laughing at something off-camera. One was unmistakably Haruto—his kind eyes, his gentle smile, exactly as Junkyu remembered him. The other was JeongWoo, but younger, his face more open and carefree than Junkyu had ever seen it.

"This... this doesn't mean anything," Junkyu said, but his voice lacked conviction. "JeongWoo never mentioned knowing Haruto."

"Didn't he?" Lee Ann's voice was like poisoned honey. "How strange. They were quite inseparable for awhile. JeongWoo was even supposed to be Haruto's best man at your wedding."

The photograph slipped from Junkyu's numb fingers, fluttering to the hospital blanket.

"You're lying," he whispered. Travis was supposed to be Haruto's best man, clearly she lied.

"Am I?" Lee Ann asked, her smile widening as she watched the doubt creep across Junkyu's features. "Tell me, darling, who arranged the business meeting between Haruto and Hong Jun? The meeting that put Haruto on that doomed flight?"
